Nostradamus. How many 3 time All Americans have there been?

There have been 7 others:

WSU - Dave Stallworth
InSU - Larry Bird
InSU - John S. Williams
BU - Hersey Hawkins
BU - Chet Walker
Cincy - Oscar Robertson
Louisville - Wes Unseld

There's quite a stack of 2-time All-Americans as well.

John S Williams might have been a 3-time all-conference, but I seriously doubt he was even a 1-time All-American. Maybe honorable mention?[/quote]

The Valley Office didn't differentiate between 1st, 2nd or HM All-American when it published the list.

Truly a remarkable accomplishment. Congrats. Can he repeat next year and the year after? Not many 3 time POYs in all of college basketball I bet.

Can't believe he made 1st team, not saying he didn't deserve it, but that is quite an accomplishment.

I beleive AP comes out in 10 days or so, my guess is he gets 2nd team as enough writers will have too hard a time putting an mvc player on the 1st team, but hope not. if sullinger gets that over him it is wrong and was based on last year vs. this year imo.

So which one is the really All-American honors that everyone recognizes? Seems like a lot of different groups announce all-americans. I'm guessing it's AP? Do they go by position or the best 5?

Even though Doug didn't have his best game against North Carolina I came away from that last game even more impressed by him. The way he kept taking it to that huge NC front-line was incredible. He had some of his shots swatted but he made his share too. 20 points and 8 boards against that team shows he can play with anyone.

Can he keep improving over the next 2 years? Or has he reached his full potential?

Doug has not reached his potential. He can get stronger. He can get craftier. His decision making is good, but with experience will get better and better. His handles are decent, for a big man, but this will improve, too.

Congratulations to Doug, he took a lot of hits this year from all the MVC teams and he kept ticking.

There is a lot of room for improvement in certain aspects of his game. A turn around jumper. Ball handling in the open court. Ability to take it to the hoop from the elbow. Defense.

With as much as he improved from year one to two I don't think its likely that he will stop working hard or getting better.

Not sure if anyone has posted this yet or not. Jays fans can rejoice. Everyone else can start throwing things.
