This game is arguably the biggest game in Creighton basketball history... I think the Jays have the firepower to hang around in this game, and the way the tournament is going so far - if the Jays can hang close until the end, I think they have a decent shot at knocking off the vaunted Heels. If Henson is out for UNC, that could be a big break that CU needs.

On another note, thank you the NCAA for scheduling this game at nearly the same time as the 1st game of Sunday's Third Round Session here in Omaha. The NCAA obviously DOES NOT consider the host city and the host school, when they put out their schedules (I know, its all about TV, not about where the game is actually being played).

Either way, will be watching and cheering for the Jays loudly on Sunday - GO JAYS!

West, how can the NCAA and the television stations know that the Blue Jays will play on the weekend? The known fact is that two teams will play in XX timeslot in Omaha. The unknown fact is will the Jays or any host city team advance. What am I missing?
There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.

Pulling for CU. Hopefully they are at their best.

The missing part of it was that the NCAA scheduled Creighton to play in the Friday-Sunday bracket, when the Omaha 2nd and 3rd rounds were also scheduled on Friday-Sunday. I guess it's just a rant of mine, that the NCAA would schedule Creighton's games right up against 2nd and 3rd round games in Omaha, basically leaving CU fans to either watch the game on TV somewhere - instead of being able to actually attend games that were mostly (9,000 to be exact) bought up by CU season ticket holders, fans, etc. The result is that the games going head to head with CU's games have been full of empty seats - which makes it looks like on the surface (on TV) that Omaha fans don't care about the NCAA tournament here... which is DEFINITELY not the case.

Guess its a subjective opinion - but personally I am a little frustrated that I have to pick and choose between watching CU on TV vs. attending 2nd and 3rd round games at the Century Link Center (with obvious choice being CU, any time and all the time).

It will definitely take CU's best to take down UNC. My guess is that if CU can manage to hit 15 or more three pointers (which is definitely possible if they get hot), then CU will have a chance. If CU's perimeter game struggles tomorrow, UNC will probably roll. I predict this to be a high scoring affair - expect the winning team to score in the 80's or 90's... should be fun to watch. The Doug McD - Harrison Barnes "Ames connection" story-line should be a fun one as well.

Its Bluejays, not Blue Jays.

I think the Bluejays(all one word) will have to play really good defense and add some suprise pressing at times to create turn overs. They (Bluejays) will also have to have multiple players hit above average number of three's.
Will be interesting to see how Creighton handles big quick players going inside. Seems the Bluejays have done a good job of figuring things out all year and will tommorow too.
Will be loud in Greensboro tommorow, an environment any basketball fan would love.

Good Luck!

Maybe someone on here knows some history between the Tarheels and Valley teams?

The Bulldogs beat UNC 104-84 in a final 4 consolation game in 1969.

The Zeller/Echenique matchup in the middle should be fun to watch too. Echenique was pretty good at holding down the MVC posts but can he do it against Zeller?

That is the big question glm... GE played a little Big East ball, but I don't know if anything can prepare him for the battle he will have against Zeller. GE is another key to the Jays pulling off the upset - along with high percentage field goal\three point shooting, and also improving from the Bama game from the free-throw line.

The Creighton/NC time was announced and I assume scheduled last night, Friday. Thus, they could have set the schedule up so the games didn't overlap with the games in Omaha on Sunday.
