The timeout was the one I thought was a bad miss, especially since Stanford then scored to go up by a possession and that pretty much changed the flow of the game from there on out. The Redbirds should've had the last possession needing a bucket to tie and a 3 to win OR Stanford would've been forced to make a shot for the win on the last possession and we could've been looking at another OT.

All in all it was a very fun game to watch, unfortunate to see ISU lose but in the 2nd half their shot selection at times left was questionable. I understand that you do not play to not lose and they had been shooting the 3 at an unbelievable percentage, but they threw up too many bad looks instead of making an extra pass or two and working for a higher percentage shot. Just my observation. Clearly the better team but between shot selection, defense and I don't know how many TO's ISU averages but 17 of them sure didn't help any.
[Insert snappy comeback]

The ref who made the majority if the awful calls, Dwayne Allen, (especially the TO out of bounds call) has now officiated 2 career college basketball games. Really NCAA/NIT?!?!?!?!?! You couldn't get any better??????

That sucks for sure, but it's no surprise as all the good refs are being held by the NCAA for the big tournament.

I agree with PantherSigEp. Shot selection and turnovers after the Redbirds had an 11 point lead didn't help. I did not like the TO call at all. The baseline was questionable and I didn't like the ref was only looking down.

Really good run for ISU to end the season and hopefully leads to confidence and even better play for next year.

Kind of hard to believe all MVC basketball is done for the year. Heck of a year with lots of wild twists and upsets. I thought we would show better in the post season tournaments though.

Ill State should be the class of the MVC next year along with CU. Hopefully one of those 2 will break into the sweet 16 next year.
