I don't like being picked first but there's no doubt this year.

The Aces will be a riddle wrapped in an enigma this year. With little inside presence on offense, or defense, the Aces were eight points away from 20 wins, and eight more points away from sending 4 more games to overtime last year. If the Aces can get a big man, who can really help this year, then look out. If not, then the results could be fairly similar to last year, and will have to rely on some over achievment from our sophs. to be better this year. All told the Aces will be a team you won't want to play on the road, and they could finish anywhere from 2nd to 6th.

We will not finish last this year. 9th maybe, but not last. Mark it down!

I would say we will be 4th at worst. I feel we can get 3rd or 2nd fairly easily. All of these new guys we have coming in work HARD, and you can already tell. Once you get all of that talent into some team chemistry, the Shockers will be hard to beat. I don't think it will take too long though.

But hey, I feel it's impossible to correctly predict this conference. I mean take last years predictions and compare it to the outcome. Everyone was pretty far off for the most part. And that's what makes it exciting.

Is it November yet?!?!?

It wouldn't surprise me if WSU won 12, 18, 14, 27 games next season. Lots of intangibles.

Were people really "pretty far off"? I don't think so. Almost everybody had Creighton and WSU finishing in the top two. Sure, many had them in the wrong order (although not this poster), but it was an overwhelming majority that selected those two to occupy the top two positions.

Shocker will be 5th or 6th they return the least amount of talent outside of ISUb.

Maybe WSU is at a different level than the rest of the Valley. When most teams in the Valley lose 5 Sr's, they dive like a rock into the abyss. All WSU has this year is:

4 JuCo AA's: Hall, Early, Wiggins, Mitchell
National JuCo POY (all divisions): Early
Former starting PG in the Pac-10: Armstead
Single-season steals record-holder at Oregon: Armstead
Parade AA: White
Top-100 PG: VanVleet
4 Sr's: Williams, Orukpe, Hall, Armstead

Those guys have never played a game together, so WSU is likely to be a play-in team Thursday in St. Louis.

Creighton lost five seniors after the 2010-11 season. If winning the conference tourney, getting a trip to the NCAA tournament and winning their first round NCAA tourney game is "diving like a rock into the abyss," I submit that everyone will be looking for that abyss....

I'd also bet that WSU would love to have the kind of season this year that CU experienced after graduating five seniors.
