Interesting topic. Did you have do some research on this or did you compile your lists all from memory? If so, that's impressive...

Northern Iowa
1. Ben Jacobson 2. Eric Coleman 3. Grant Stout 4. Robbie Sieverding 5. Kwadzo Ahelegbe 6. Adam Koch 7. Erik Crawford 8. Jordan Egleseder 9. David Gruber 10. Anthony James or Ali Farokmanesh

I would not put Coleman at #2. I might put him behind Stout, Sieverding, Kwadzo, and Koch. And Adam Koch was MVC POY, so I would have a hard time not slotting him in the top 2 or 3.

1. Jacobson
2. Koch
3. Kwadzo
4. Sieverding
5. Stout
6. Coleman

Thank you sir. All of it was memory except for EU, and Drake. I needed some research for the last players on each of their lists

As someone who has paid only semi-close attention to Drake here in the Des Moines area, is Ryan Wedel really a Top 10 player for them in the last decade? I was never impressed by him when I saw him. But of course, this is based off of limited knowledge

Just off the top of my head, I'd put Greg Danielson, Bucky Cox and Andry Sola ahead of him. Some of those early 2000's Kurt Kanaskie are hard to remember.

I wouldn't put Emmenecker at #2....he was strictly a one year wonder...maybe even a half-year wonder. And there's a segment of Drake's fanbase that thinks he was only able to accomplish what he did because of the guys around him. Count me among them. Having 4 guys on the court with him who each had legit 23-25 foot range opened the court for him, so he had huge, huge driving lanes. He was the perfect guy for that situation, but if the court can't be spread like that, I think his effectiveness goes way down.

Josh Young was special. Certainly deserves to be in that #1 spot for this time frame.

A lot depends on how you define "best players". Those who had the most talent? Those that had the best season? Those that had the best career?

Korver's way too high. Luke McDonald has to be on that list somewhere. Keita wouldn't be in my top 10.

This is my attempt at a list for Drake:

1. Josh Young
2. Luke McDonald
3. Lamont Evans*
4. Bucky Cox
5. Adam Emmenecker
6. Ajay Calvin
7. Ben Simons
8. Rayvonte Rice
9. Andry Sola
10. Al Stewart

* MVC fans never really got a chance to see Evans. He was a juco transfer (point guard) during the Kanaskie era. His junior year, he broke his right (shooting) wrist toward the end of the non-conference season. He played some after that, but wasn't close to 100%. His senior season, he was averaging about 10 points and 7 assists per game before being declared academically ineligible at semester. He was in the top 5 in the country in assists at the time. Big, athletic point guard who could really pass the ball.

Dontaie Smith would certainly be in the top 10 based on talent, but he only played half a season before beind declared ineligible.

Nice list. Original list I mean. Wish I had a memory like that. Pretty good selections from an MSU standpoint.
