Arrives at UE Friday evening from Lithuania. Started on his home team who won the championship in Europe. Played against Doug Mc Dermott last year in the U-19 Games.
Fills the spot for UE in the 5 spot along with sophomore 6-8 Jaylon Moore and freshman David Howard 6-8 from Tennessee.

Easily the most discussed recruit (all time) on ThePurpleCode.com. He has played against some high level competition and looks very polished. Glad to see that he has finally made his way to Evansville.

A splendid get for Evansville. Marty has come through in the 11th hour and 59th minute with exactly what you guys needed to be fully competitive. I'm looking forward to the Evansville games more than usual now. This dude together with what you have coming back has you all looking better than you have been in a long time.
The Valley has improved mightily in the last couple of years. We should have 6 or 7 tough outs this season.

We started hearing about him last October, at some point, he had played with current Ace Rokas Cesnulevicius, then everything cooled off for about 6 months...maybe because of his commitments to their National Team. When interviewed he had said that it wasn't determined that he would play for UE. When UE hired Geoff Alexander as an assistant coach, he was tweeting from the Euro U20 tournament this summer about that competition. A ton of speculation was going on until a poster on the Aces fan page (Tom Servo) saw Egidijus on campus at the beginning of school. It does seem like it was hour 11:59, but I kinda think that the staff was extremely confident they were going to bring him in.

Apparently he can play pick up games with the team, but the Aces are waiting on the NCAA clearinghouse to approve his eligibility. Marty said that he is confident there won't be a problem. The clearinghouse will determine if he is eligible and how many years (1-4) he is eligible for.

Is he expected to start and contribute right away? If so that's a lot to ask of a kid who is new to the country and the team.

Anybody know if his eligibility has been approved yet, and if so for how many years?

Last I heard, they are still awaiting word from the NCAA.
