I'll trade the Horizon League Evansville for Detroit straight-up, right now.

We can't lose the only pimp mascot in college hoops to another league. Stay please dear God stay for all the young pimps in valley cities everywhere who look up to Ace.

If the Valley ever needs to replace a school, there's a 99% chance that they will go to the Dakota's IMO. Not going to be a popular decision around here (not with me either), but that's what's going to happen.

Why Detroit? Yuck.

I think, regarding Horizon schools, Milwaukee would be the obvious #1 for the Valley. Or, the two Chicago schools. Wright State even would make more sense.

Uh, no.

And no way the chance is 99%.

I wonder is it possible that if Evansville left the MVC, the Valley would just stay at nine and not add another school? A league of nine schools would each get a larger slice of the pie?

I think the new school will mirror whatever school leaves. In this case I expect to see a small private college, that does not play football.

Why would you expect that? What would be the benefit/reason for that?

MIlwaukee is millions in debt. Nobody will want them right now.

Detroit is a recruiting hotbed, was in the NCAA tourney as recently as last year and doesn't play football.

I would tend to agree.
