Every word in this sentence is inaccurate.

This will seem cold blooded but I do not believe UE has any place in the league as it stands now. They bring nothing in market share or resources and if USI does infact move up to D1 they will put UE to shame in resources and support.

How do you figure? If USI isn't willing to commit the resources or support to DI athletics right now, how are they magically going to change that if they do make the switch to DI some day?

UE has shown in the past few years that they are willing to support the basketball program at a higher level than the previous decade with the addition of a new practice facility and support for the Ford Center. You can make a case for UE not belonging in the MVC because of geographic or similar university reasons, but UE is in a better position in terms of resources and support then some other MVC schools.

It will be a sad day for the Valley if this is true. After living in this day and age of realignment for a couple years now, it sure does seem that some of the reporting on this topic is irresponsible at best. We got burned on that because a lot of reliable people told us the CUSA thing was going to happen but then both parties got cold feet at the last moment. So I won't count UE out until there is an official press release from the Horizon.

If I was Doug Elgin I would be in Tulsa today. There are pros and cons to all the usual suspects. I don't want another Missouri school in the league so that eliminates UMKC. My sleeper school would be Belmont. They would be a great addition and you could then perhaps add Lipscomb to give them a good travel partner. Both of them are in Nashville.

Because they are in the Big East, where the TV contract and banked NCAA tourney units give them millions more yearly then the MVC could ever hope to provide (not to mention greater media exposure, more televised games in more markets and east coast recruiting). Why would they want to come to the MVC?

If the report of UE to the Horizon League is true, I would have to assume Belmont to the HL would also be true.

Ooops. Reading comphrenshion fail.

Yeah no Belmont then. I was just fixated on UE that I did not pay attention to the rest. As long as we don't add Saint Louis U or UMKC then I'll be okay.

Why would you not want SLU? They are probably the best fit for the valley as far as geography, level of play, and support. SLU wont leave the A-10 now that they have a kickin' conference.

I hate SLUH with every fiber of my being. Any good MSU or Valley fan for that matter should feel the same way. Frankly they are everything that is wrong with college athletics. They have the pompous, elitist feel that you get at a private school. If you want to look at athletics, they hire a trainwreck of a coach in Majerus. They let Kwamain Mitchell back on the team. Win at all costs. But mostly I hate them because they think they are too good for the Valley. They think that being in this conference they would be lowering themselves. I don't have the words to express how much I despise them. We don't want them. Trust me. I wouldn't let a SLUH alum in my house let alone allow that school in my league. There are few things in this world that are clearly black and white. This is one. If anyone disagrees with me then they are flat out wrong. No exceptions. If they ever ask about entry, we should direct Father Biondi to the MIAA.

IndSt and SIU have 2 hour bus rides to play at UE.
What team are you going to add that has a better RPI, makes sense with traveling (revenue and non-revenue), and wants to be in the MVC?

If the MVC would want to go with 9 teams, your athletic dept. needs to schedule 2 more games each year...what two teams does Creighton not have scheduled that is dying to play CU that has a better RPI than UE?
The preceding lesson in basketball is free of charge.
