Agreed, it would be news if McDermott wasn't on a preseason first team. It would be news if he gets some preseason player of the year nods as it seems Zeller will get most of those.

Yes congratulations and he is as good as we have in our league. He has some excellent offensive skills and I'm not trying to start anything but he isn't anything close to players that I remember seeing like Larry Bird, Hersey Hawkins, Antoine Carr, and Xavier McDaniel. Maybe it's because he isn't a terrific athlete.

I was thinking about this and wonder if Doug would have had the same career at UNI. His stats would probably be less and that's what earned him his acclaim. He'd still be the same great player at UNI but maybe not an All American. Just a thought.

CBSSports listed McDermott as a first teamer today as well as the #2 player overall in college basketball. Illinois State's Jackie Carmichael rated #79 overall.

Definitely deserving. WSU has actually done decent against him so far. However the guys that played the most defense against him are gone. Unless Early buys into defense quick Dougie could have his best game he has had against the Shox up to this point. Grats to Dougie
