Five years ago a legit and athletic 6-6 SF was even more rare than a 7 footer. That is not the case any more. Take a look at the likely SFs starting in the Valley this year. Here is what I see:
Bradley - They will go with a three guard line-up…the biggest possibility being 6-5, 210 Eastman
Creighton - Gibbs at 6-5, 210
Drake - 6-8, 210 Simons
Evansville - 6-5, 210 Ryan
Illinois State - Wilkins (6-9, 230)…perhaps Ekey is the SF and Wilkins the PF, still 6-7, 220.
Indiana State - Arop at 6-6, 215
MSU - Keith Pickens at 6-4, 205 (someone correct me if MSU is going to move one of the PFs to the SF position).
UNI - Sonnen? Possibly Buss at 6-9, 215 or Rank at 6-6 and 235
Southern Illinois - 6-5, 175 Desmar Jackson
WSU - Probably 6-8, 215 Cleanthony Early
That's three or four legit SFs at 6-8+…also a lot of beef and skill at that position.
Should be a fun year.
