WSU is being underrated and disrespected.

UNI and IlSU will not finish ahead of the Shox - and it won't even be that close. Prepare yourselves for 2012 - Part II.

Aargh, reread your post. Rather than tout your team, you play the conspiracy card followed up by a we will show you statement. The 2 followup posts to yours gave reasons. Unlike you. All the wah-wahing, boo hooing by Sn's is something 10 yr olds do. Now go back and tell all the geezers how crappy MVCfans is.

Let me give you this little tidbit: Fans support their team - sometimes radically.

Some fan bases are allowed any level of enthusiasm they can muster for their teams, but not WSU fans.

I like the enthusiasm shown by fans of all the schools including WSU. The issue is with one or two people who intentionally go over the top trying to get a response against their school so they can act like a martyr.

Completely agree Red. I love to see see fans of all the Valley teams really embrace their teams, but it's a bit over-the-top when fans come proclaiming that their team (comprised with a ton of new faces) will make other Valley teams shake in their boots. It's great to be optimistic, but you also have to take into account what the other Valley teams have coming back. Pretty sure most MVC teams will not be laying down for anyone as The Valley from top-to-bottom is usually a battleground.

I'm getting psyched for what should be a monster MVC season with several teams that should show well on the national stage. So..... Peoria, Omaha, Des Moines, Evansville, Normal, Terre Haute, Springfield, Cedar Falls, Carbondale and Wichita it's time to get ready for exciting, fun-to-watch and always ultra-competitive Valley Ball....YES!!!

wow, grow up. Some of you shocker fans that like to cry about this site always like to play the victim. That isn't the reality, and you know it. Your post was 100% meant to be inflammatory. Stop acting like a baby and pretending that you are unfairly treated.

Seems the only disagreement with your initial post was with your comments about them being "disrespected" (that was especially the case with my response) anyway, not with the fact that you think WSU will be really good.

Yes, WSU's starting lineup is just a bunch of dumb ol' JUCO street ballers.

You know, when I hear a BJ discuss various aspects of BJ admission, education, and overall learning in a haughty tone, I giggle. That's three giggles for me today.

http://lawhighereducation.com/49-educational-malpractice.html

In Ross, a high school student with an “academically disadvantaged background” accepted an athletic scholarship to study at Creighton University and to play on its varsity basketball team. Although he studied at the university from 1978 until 1982, he left there with the language skills of a fourth grader and the reading skills of a seventh grader. Creighton paid for a year of remedial education at a school in Chicago, where he attended classes with grade school students. Ross then attended a university in Chicago, but he was forced to withdraw for financial reasons.

Mr. Ross attended Creighton from 1978 until 1982. During that time he maintained a D average and acquired 96 of the 128 credits needed to graduate. However, many of these credits were in courses such as Marksmanship and Theory of Basketball, and did not count towards a university degree. Mr. Ross alleges that he took these courses on the advice of Creighton's Athletic Department, and that the department also employed a secretary to read his assignments and prepare and type his papers.

Now that's what I call a sterling reputation. I don't know how you are able to even field a basketball squad hampered by such stringent recruiting standards...

The dateline on that story tracks rather nicely with a period in WSU athletics where cheating was taken to record levels.

To play off you little quiz theme in another thread, let me add ----

A. What number is higher -- the number of WSU NCAA tourney appearances since 1988 or the number of times WSU has been sanctioned by the NCAA for cheating?

PS - Nice to see that you chose to respond to my earlier post under the COldblooded screen name this time instead of the 2liveWu screen name. What's next - a return to the old WuDrWu persona? :D

Well UNI has proved they have .500 talent in the Valley for 2 years. That seems to be well proven at this point.

And young teams don't improve, get better from year to year? Come on. Ill St was .500 last year, and worse the year before.

UNI was a young team last year with a freshman PG, and a freshman C, and they had a pretty good season considering those facts. The year before they were vying for a 3rd straight MVC championship and were 1 game out of first place before the O'Rear injury derailed their finish.

The fact that you are so paranoid about different personas makes me giggle. Calm down, sally

Not sure how many sanctions WSU got, but it was a lot.

Now, if you check what we did, it wasn't too terrible. Not like the BJ cheating scandal, but if you look at what we were accused of, it's scum of the earth stuff...paying for players girlfriends to get abortions. Paying players and their families. Point shaving, hookers, etc. (its all in sports illustrated). They came in with the whole NCAA outfit and found we were practicing too long and that we loaned a California kid a rain coat during his visit.

We had a successful audit based on the level of scrutiny and publicity received. What sanctions did Creighton get for their mild indiscretion?
