Drake opens the season today at 1100 vs William Jewell, a D2 school from Missouri.

After scoring 101 points in their exhibition game, Drake Coach Mark Phelps said "we need to play even faster". Something Drake fans never thought they'd hear Coach Phelps say.

Schedule gets real tough, real quick after this game.

Drake wins 96-66.

These Bulldogs can shoot. Will be an interesting season.

Yeah, they can shoot....

In last week's exhibition game, Drake was 15-24 from 3-point range.

Today..............................Drake was 15-24 from 3-point range.

Somehow, I doubt that will continue.

Of concern.....outrebounded by William Jewell and poor from the FT line (15-24....same as from 3-pt line)

Simons with 25 points in 28 minutes, Richard Carter with 19 points and 4 assists in 19 minutes. Between those two guys, they were 9-11 from 3-point range.

Bulldogs were playing without Chris Hines and Karl Madison. Hines might be ready for next Saturday's game against Detroit.
