I also am rooting for the Shocks but realistically I think the WSU rolodex of excuses will be on full display in about seven hours. They aren't athletic enough to compete with those VCU thoroughbreds unfortunately. But maybe Double G will outcoach Shaka.

No excuses here. I think this will be a good game. I don't see the Shox getting blown out but I suppose it could happen. VCU is expected to beat the Shox especially this year.

Casey - have you seen the 12-13 version of the Shockers ? They may not have jelled yet but they are athletic enough to compete with VCU. It's just a matter of time.

Just imagine if WSU pulls this game out, this board will be flooded with Shocker fans proclaiming final four aspirations! I want WSU to win but I don't know if I'd be able to handle that....

Since many shox fans are predicting a loss, perhaps even a big loss I doubt this will be the case. Regardless we will have plenty of asshats on this board that will find some way to twist words...etc just so they can bash on the Shockers. Have your fun if you do, I am confident it will come back to bite everyone in the ass someday soon.

They lose and I seriously doubt you will see bashing. Your clones (aargh, Isaso) are famous for hedging "just" in case they win. If they don't, "watch out later".

PS I actually enjoy reading Cold's posts! He's consistent. Hope Fever finds his manhood sometime during his lifetime.

We have the athletes to bring the exact same defensive medicine to the battle. If we win this game, it will be because we out-VCU'd, VCU. Last year when we turned the game around, it was because we started to play just like them.

They know their system inside and out, but we have more size without sacrificing speed. If we can use our depth to tire them out with the same kind of disruptive, gimmicky defense we watched SIU-C employ during their heyday, things could turn out good for us. One thing is for sure, it's going to be uuuuggggllllyyyyy.

As far as 'Fever is concerned, his posts are all on moderation and don't see the light of day. I have advised him on altering his approach for a while so that he may join the community. It is up to the moderators of this site to give him a little leeway again.

I'm not sure this loss will stop them anyway...maybe postpone them for awhile, but probably not stop them.

I'm surprised/frustrated the line is so high. I would have liked to touch this game a bit, but with the line up to 8, I think I'm going to hold tight. I am looking forward to watching it and seeing all the new WSU JUCO guys though.

I don't think anybody from Shocker Nation is ignorant enough to predict Final Fours. Most of us know there is a lot of luck involved in having a deep run.. especially if you aren't Kentucky.

Regardless of what happens tonight, we will still be a very deep, athletic, talented, and physical team. Valley teams will not be able to use this game tape in preparing for us unless they plan on playing the same style of ball as VCU.

This game should be very entertaining for Shocker haters as we are going to get punished. I'm just hoping we can deal the same kind of punishment back. It's going to be MMA, cagematch kind of s***. Fans of the old SIU-C style of ball should have lube and moist towel in hand.

The o/u is 133. I think defense rules the day and this one stays under the number.

There are reports that Shaka Khan has asked the students to "go after" Carl Hall during the game because they are still red-assed about HCGM out-recruiting VCU for him. Coach Marshall hates Khan, and Khan hates Coach Marshall. There could be some interesting developments transpire during this game on AND off the court. If I was a betting man, I would bet that something that happens in this game is going to be on ESPN.. and I don't mean basketball highlights. It's going to be a very "physical" atmosphere. Also consider that VCU's arena (and campus) is located in an extremely high crime district of Richmond, Va. Hopefully the bus driver locks the doors as well as the wheels.
