Yessir (ma'am?) I am. Could be wrong but I think we are going to be pretty salty by the end of January. I am going against the grain a bit with the prediction, but I think it is entirely possible.

Also I think we have a tendency to watch games this time of year and just flash forward to March, thinking that everything is equal. Teams will get better. VCU will certainly get better. We have to remember that what we see now is just the prelude. And it is a heck of a prelude for WSU, don't misunderstand me.

This is how every fan should be expected to feel about their team this early in the season. Some will be overhyped, some will be alot better than expected. I love this time of year!

I don't think anybody would look good offensively going against VCU's defense. Take for example the last 2 meetings between the schools. Ugly basketball, with lots of defense. Same case here except WSU has obviously less experience than in the other two meetings, and somehow winded up with the W. I am elated.

As far as the goaltending call, sure it was goaltending. We'll just call it even after the phantom foul on Ragland that was called with a second left in 2011 that gave the Rams 2 gift-wrapped free throws for the win.

It was a great win for WSU and the conference as a whole. A quick statement game, despite the obvious ugliness. COldblooded sure called it with the SIU comparisons. The Valley is now 12-2 on the year I believe. Good start in a few days.

Great win. I was most impressed with WSU's defense and the way they handled that viscous VCU press. Offense for both teams was fairly horrible though. It wasn't just great defense either because both teams missed quite a few wide open shots.

Hall looks great. He's really slimmed down and looks more athletic. I was impressed with Early and Armstead too especially down the stretch.

You have to think the Shox offense will get better as they get more familiar with each other and Marshall's system. Shox could be a force by Jan.

Yeah it should be expected that defense would be ahead of offense with a bunch of new guys. I have seen enough shooting just in the last couple games (including exhibition) to feel that it has to get better. I know that it was very low level competition, but I think once they get a few more games under the belt it will get a little more consistent. That is my hope anyway.

Great win for WSU and the league. Really sloppy game by both teams, but WSU found a way to win on the road. Really got lucky on the goaltending non-call. WSU certainly has a lot of potential this year.

Great win for the Shocks, a little payback for the last two meetings.

I didn't get to watch the whole game but I watched the end and while there was probably goaltending, I am actually kind of glad it wasn't called considering the absolute travesty that almost gave VCU the game back when they didn't clean the floor under the basket and Williams slipped on that in-bound. That's completely unacceptable and I hope Williams didn't hurt himself on the play.

Like I said, didn't get to watch the whole game but it clearly wasn't a clean game for either offense. Kind of an ugly, grind it out defensive game. As a UNI fan, I am used to those. But a W is a W.

Crazy thing is....the Shox are pretty bad at the actual bracketbuster games. But they are now 8-0 in the rematches LOL. Better late than never I guess.....
