Don't they do that every year? I guess you can't fault it this time cause it's due to injury. Without Ryan, Evansville will probably lose the majority of their non-conference games and then he'll be back for conference play and will probably be middle of the pack killing everyone's resume.

Buffalo Bills urrrr whatever their mascot is win 56 - 50. What will Evansville do next year when they don't have Colt 45? We keep hearing about all these recruits are great, but I still haven't seen it.

Ugly loss, team looked lost w/o Ryan. Only bright spot was the play of the 6'11" newcomer. He scored 4 points , grabbed a rebound and blocked a shot in the first few minutes of the first half. Then Marty sat his butt on the bench until the final 5 minutes of the game while the Aces fired up miss after miss from the 3 point range while Buffalo dominated the interior. When he got back in he scored 8 points, grabbed 4-5 rebounds and blocked or altered several shots on the interior. Why so long on the bench in between???

Then the conference teams need to beat Evansville during conference play.

Whining even before conference play starts? Put on your big boy pants and beat the Aces and then you have nothing to whine about. Geeeeeezzzz

The Sophs need this year with Colt on the floor to expand their game and to get better at scoring.

The Frosh need this year with Colt on the floor so they can adjust to D1 basketball.

Next year, both groups should be prepared to handle more of the scoring load.

Hopefully Colt will be back, but the Aces, more than any other team, are dependent on one player offensively. That is not a good way to put together a successful college team.

You totally missed the point.

Thanks for the L, Aces. Even without Ryan, that should have been a no-brainer.

Evansville is still trying to figure out who will replace the scoring from Denver Holmes and Kenneth Harris - the two averaged 22.5 points per game. I think many fans had assumed that the Aces would start:
Mockevicius, Sawvell, Jahr, Ryan, Taylor

Instead, we've seen 3 different starting lineups in 4 games (including the two exhibitions).
vs. So. Indiana: Sawvell, Jones, Ryan, Cox, Taylor
vs. Ill. Springfield: Mockevicius, Jahr, Ryan, Cox, Taylor
@ Notre Dame, tonight: Sawvell, Jahr, Ryan, Cox, Taylor

Find me the offense in that lineup. For reference, player scoring averages last year:
Sawvell: 6
Jahr: 5.8 (redshirt year due to early-season injury)
Ryan: 20.5
Cox: 9.2
Taylor: 5.8
Total: 47.3

At least with Mocevicius on the floor, you get the opportunity for some points in the paint.
