He scored 4 points , grabbed a rebound and blocked a shot in the first few minutes of the first half. Then Marty sat his butt on the bench until the final 5 minutes of the game while the Aces fired up miss after miss from the 3 point range while Buffalo dominated the interior. When he got back in he scored 8 points, grabbed 4-5 rebounds and blocked or altered several shots on the interior. Why so long on the bench in between???

Because you are Evansville and do this every year!!!

Then the conference teams need to beat Evansville during conference play.

You totally missed the point.

Thanks for the L, Aces. Even without Ryan, that should have been a no-brainer.

"Missed the point?"

No, I understand the idiotic logic of a weaker team losing during non-conference and winning during conference and how it impacts the MVC ranking among the D1 conferences. There are no "brainers" in college basketball or my second favorite team, the Shockers, would have figured out how to win the MVC Tournament. My point is stop whining about the Aces winning during MVC play. No team is going to roll over to make the conference look good.

The Sophs need this year with Colt on the floor to expand their game and to get better at scoring.

The Frosh need this year with Colt on the floor so they can adjust to D1 basketball.

Next year, both groups should be prepared to handle more of the scoring load.

Are you new to basketball?

We have been hearing this for two years now how Evansville is getting better recruits...where are the results when Colt 45 goes out for the game? WSU loses 4 starters from last years team 80% of there scoring...why can they maintain? I'm tired of the excuses from Evansville and promises of players...either produce or find the Horizon or Summit!

Hopefully Colt will be back, but the Aces, more than any other team, are dependent on one player offensively. That is not a good way to put together a successful college team.

Agreed. We purposely recruit only one good player..................

Then what is the excuse? Why can't you get anyone there to help him if he can't be in the game?

Yes, very idiotic logic to be mad about a team tanking every year during non-con play and then turn around and play "hero" during conference play.

If Evansville is that one-dimensional without Ryan, then you're probably correct in the fact that they probably won't do well in conference anyways.

Atlantic Ten: 1
MWC: 1
Big East: 1

The Shockers gleefully ran off the Aces' court last year with a one possession win. We will consider the Horizon or Summit when you pound us on our own court and when you win the conference tournament ;)

Promise? That may get WSU the motivation to just do both and I bet the other 8 members of the league would be behind WSU...what do you think?

"Tanking" occurs when the team or the competitor does it on purpose. Look up the definition. We live and die with Colt Ryan's play. It is what it is. We step on the floor and your coach has drawn up several defensive schemes to get the ball out of his hand or to stop him from scoring. We are a much weaker team without him.
