I am all into trends:

2011: 9-9

2012: 9-9

As I said, the next 2-3 years will answer your question.

I seem to remember having similiar conversations with fans from SIU during SIU's glory days. Those fans were very, very cocky. Be careful with your judgments because karma is a ..............
There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.

Those two years are when your star player was a sophmore and junior. He goes out from 3/4 of a game and you get beat by Buffalo at home. I remember the dark years for WSU in the 90's, the difference is our attendance never fell blow 7,000, so they had the money to make changes and "right the ship". Has Evansville every drawn that well since they have been in the Valley? Very few Valley teams can compete with WSU and Creighton for athletic budgets, that is why during there darkest times they will still be able to turn it around. Doesn't look the same for Evansville with the past 12 year history.

THe latest trend is Buffalo 56, Evansville 50.

The Big East is Big Time.

Evansville had it's dark years. JimCrews was where it started, Merfeld was a disaster and Martyis now in his 6th year has a plan to turn it. They just sign a player WSU wanted and didn't get and Blake Simmons Marty 's Son. Gibson from Cleveland inks his LOI tomorrow. With 6 Bigs in the program, all freshman and Sophmores, and 3 of the four scholarships of the current team seniors used the die has been cast.

His sixth year and he still hasn't had a winning Valley record? How many MVC teams would keep that coach? I know WSU, Creighton, Bradley, and SIU wounldn't put up with that as they have proved it by firing coaches that have done less then that. That statement says a lot about the Evansville program.

I really don't want to get into a troll-a-thon, but using your logic, WSU would have been booted from the league in 99. And to answer your question about attendance, do your homework. UE outdrew WSU and everyone else in the Valley for the 6 consecutive years they were in the Valley in the 90's.

Believe it or not, Evansville had better attendence figures than bigger schools like UNI and Illinois St last year.

Tough loss, hope Ryan gets healthy quick. If nothing else, I want him out of the league this year, not turning into NAte Funk and being a pain in the a for another year.

Despite the bitching, Buffalo is not a bad team. Top 100 RPI last year, finished ahead of NCAA Sweet 16 team Ohio in the MAC. 18 wins the year before and a 149 RPI, 17 wins and 109 the year before that. Don't know what they have back, but the program has had success recently. A bad loss only because it was at home.
