A big, agile 6-10 center will make any team better! If the 6-7, 240 lb kid (Moore?) can provide solid minutes at the 5 and 4 the Aces will be good!

Moore is coming along well. Last year he was tentative. This year he is more comfortable on the court and he plays aggressively, even when the opponent is bigger or quicker. I like his development.

Some teams can have an off night and win. We cannot. I like our guard play and I think our wings will be fine. However, will Mock stay out of foul trouble against MVC big men? Will Moore wear down halfway through the season? Will Jahr hit shots when Colt and DJ are cold? Will our PG be enough of an offensive threat to draw the defense?

I think we are better than last year if we stay healthy? Are we CU or ISU or WSU good AND deep? Not yet.

Mock is the best big man UE has ever recruited at this point in time. Given time to develop his skills to the American game we will see an outstanding player. Dan Godfried turned into a great player, but as a freshman he could not run the floor without tripping over his own feet. I actually saw him do this once. The Whale was big but he had a lot of deficiencies and didn't develop until late in his career. Others who were 6-7 or 6-8 were really scoring forwards. Mock has good hands, can rebound on both ends of the court, already has a nice jump shot with good mechanics and ball rotation and is very athletic for his size. I expect him to domimate the Valley his Junior and Senior years.

Alabama A&M had a pretty good dance team back in the day. Not that I ever noticed............

I agree with your last sentence, but did not have the guts to say this on the board. I am glad you did.

Lots of optimism coming from Aces fans tonight. Was A&M receiving votes?
Definitely a bit odd to see an Evansville fan using the word "domination" to describe something UE-related, but then again it was Alabama A&M they just handled.

MVC: 1
WCC: 1
Atlantic Ten: 1
MWC: 1
Big East: 1

The Aces were not receiving votes when we were one rebound away from beating the Shockers in our house last year. One rebound. We now have a 6'10" Freshman who may be able to get us 3-5 rebounds and block 1-2 shots so close losses become close wins.

The Ace's fan didn't use the word domination.

Another stellar performance by a SWAC team. Alabama A&M did what SWAC teams do - drop their pants, bend over, get a check and drop UE's RPI by about 30 spots at the end of the year.

It is a tragic shame these schools get to be classified as D1 schools. I can name 4 or 5 division 2 schools that mVC teams played in the noncon that are better than ANY SWAC team.

I really hope you aren't serious. The kid has a chance to be something special, but I don't see how you can call him the best ever at this point when he has only failed to have more than one basket in half of the games he has played and had 4 fouls in 5 minutes against the only true good front court he has played.
