Recent success, no. But resources and media market, yes.

I'll buy the media market argument for Denver because they actually get people to show up for their games (averaged over 5k per game last year) but Loyola is averaging under 2k/game so far this year. It is quite clear Chicago could not care less about Loyola. Is taking a hit by playing a 300+ RPI team twice a year really worth it to add a team from a large market that no one really cares about?

Creighton is now officially on the market. Highly doubt they get contacted by any leagues but this proves it could happen.

How? Tulane plays (although not very well) FBS football. That was the driving force behind this move.

ECU also joining Big East as football member only.

Wish Tulsa was joining Big East as football member only, then the Valley could get them back for everything else.

Statement redacted, Goodman on CBS said it was a basketball move.

I had not thought of that and I do think that there is possibility of this. Tulsa in all sports would be great. I'd love to get back into Oklahoma and specifically Tulsa. I saw ORU as the way to get this done, but TU would work just the same. Actually better. This could really happen if Big East becomes CUSA for all intents and purposes.

So DU isn't a good enough vessel for you to pull in the Denver market, but ORU would bring in the Tulsa market? What kool-aid are you drinking?

Why add Tulsa? When was the last time they were good at anything?

At some point, the NCAA needs to step in and say the Big Ten, Big 12, ACC, SEC, and Pac-12 are the official power conferences for football, and divide everyone else up who wants to play FBS football into districts (based on geography and ability), allowing the champions to play their way into a playoff with the big boys.

This would free up conferences to make sound and logical decisions about membership.
