Kind of funny that the guy that is the crusader about not taking anything for granted around here missed out on this assumption.

I checked the half time score and went to do something else instead of watching the Red Birds blow out the OCwboys. I took a break and came back to the Net to check out how bad the Birds had blown out Wyoming.

I couldn't imagine how the final result happened. I checked the second half scoring - 52-24. Losing a half by 28 will lose a lot of games. If I may be allowed to exercise some understatement, I believe Wyoming made better half time adjustments.

An hour ago I was ready to anoint the Birds as a legitimate challenger to CU for the Valley title - not so much right now.

Yup, I thought the Redbirds would hang on to win. Basketball has two halves.

As you could see from the first half of this game and against Louisville, this team has shown great promise but they do not know how to step on a team when they are down. It really seemed like they thought the second half was going to be a breeze and stopped playing. I hate to say it, but this is the effect of a 1st time coach.

Bird,

I only watched the last 7.5 minutes. I must say that the Red Birds played some lousy basketball, during those minutes.

Dumb fouls, poor rebounding, missed free throws by the bushel, awful shot making and Coach Mueller never called time out to stop the the madness.

You might never know it, but I was pulling for the Red Birds.

We were at the game tonight and the old coot behind me tapped me on my shoulder and said while he could appreciate my enthusiasm, I need to stop jumping up. He can't see over me. I wanted to deck him.

For those critisizing the crowd noise at RBA tonight, what is it you want us to cheer for??? We were watching an epic meltdown by a team that quit playing. Were we suppose to cheer for 20 turnovers which most of lead to points. Were we suppose to cheer the team that chose to ignore Carmichel on offense and jack up 3's? Were we suppose to cheer lethargic defense? Once the first half was over there was nothing to cheer about.

Aargh, you are right. This team isn't who we thought they were and shouldn't be feared. They played (or the lack of) themselves out of a possible at large berth in the NCAA. If they don't win the conference tourney the best they can hope for now is possibly the NIT but that won't happen with what I witnessed tonight.

I don't want to be associated with that type of attitude with an "Aargh, you are right" intro. I still think IlSU will end up as a legitimate NCAA at large team.

CU stumbled against Boise State. IlSU stumbled against Wyoming. Losing to Wyoming isn't that big a deal but the way the game was lost raises some question marks. WSU hasn't had their stumble yet, but it's almost certain they have one coming. I'm not going to consider a roadie loss to Tennessee a stumble. I'm confident WSU will reserve their stumble for a total head-scratcher loss in league play (not to CU, IlSU, or UNI).
