Northern Colorado at Wichita State 12/8

Postby Khan4Cats » December 6th, 2012, 8:49 am

Northern Colorado Bears (1-5) at Wichita State Shockers (8-0)

Bears have not won a game against D-I competition and are coming off a 76-59 loss to Northern Iowa.

Shockers should have the starters benched from the first media timeout of the second half on, only playing them in the second half to get a little bit of a workout in. Game against UNI wasn't as close as the score, no way the Shockers should be challenged.

WSU has 9 players averaging 12.9 minutes or more a game. The other 3 players average 6.9-8.6 minutes a game. Only two are averaging 25+ a game, Carl Hall at 28 minutes and Ron Baker at 25.

Not sure why I'm posting this just saw that statement and thought man Marshall already subs them in and out like crazy.

This will be a nice warm-up for our games against SWOMO.

I guess if CU can have the Longwood's and the Presbyterian Colleges on their schedule and if they can survive the damage of having two teams like N. CO, then WSU probably won't be ireversablely damage with just one.

Sad thing SWMO is worse than all these team put together.

LOL at your defensiveness. My comment wasn't a shot at WSU in any way, but was intended as a shot at Northern Colorado..

But since you've brought it up, CU got Longwood and Presbyterian as part of the Vegas tourney; we didn't book those stinkers ourself. In other words, we got them they same way you got the stinkers Howard and Western Carolina on your schedule.

Northern Colorado, on the other hand, you booked yourself. Charleston Southern too for that matter. And, oh yeah, North Carolina Central too. ;)

(That's 6 such games byt the way, not just one).

WSU's RPI is 8 right now. Considering they're 67% through non-con, I doubt they're worried about anything but trying to win the games they are expected to win. The rest will take care of itself.

UNC is bad....WSU by 25ish.

The UNI game was not NEARLY as close as the score (still a 17 point win). UNI jumped out to a 27-6 lead very early in the game, UNC made a run to get it to 11 at half and 9 shortly after half, but other than about a 5 minute span the lead was about 20 most of the game.

Even in rural Iowa, the difference from 20 to 17 is 3 points. Seems as if the final score was an accurate portrayal of the difference between the 2 teams.

It was what it was....an easy win.

It is not a small compliment when our opposition is so interested in Shocker athletics that they pore over the operations of our program. You would think a BJ had enough to keep itself interested this year. Perhaps I still underestimate the allure of the Shocker program to other MVC schools.
