I get it, and said I'd feel the same way.

Apples and oranges.

The value of the new league would be that you have some nationally recognized programs, more than likely a significantly better TV contract and the potential for a much greater number of NCAA tourney bids. There is also significantly better exposure nationally, which will help both athletic recruiting and undergraduate recruiting.

Your comment shows that either you fail to grasp all that is at stake or you chose to deliberately ignore it just to take a swipe at CU.

(I'd also add that there may be a segment of the fanbase and school that feels taken for granted by the MVC. We'll make you travel the farthest despite bringing the most fans to the tourney year in and year out for over a decade. We'll award non bball conference tourneys to schools that don't show the same level of investment in their programs and/or facilities. We'll award the soccer tourney to schools that don't have anywhere near the same level of success nationally. And when you lodge your concerns, we'll ignore them completely, despite the fact that you've been one of the most successful programs in the conference for over a decade. That might make one feel a touch under appreciated, dontcha think?)

I'm with you DoubleJay...a lot of WSU fans feel the same way and I'm one of them.

Good luck getting the Big East/A10/Catholic league to host a conference tournament closer to Omaha than St. Louis....

Really? Thanks for the insight.

You should reread my post because you obviously failed to grasp a single point.

Catholic league... holy wars... LMAO!

These arrogant hypocrites are leaving the Big East because they think they are too good for Tulane and E. Carolina. This has nothing to do with their religious purpose, which it appears they have wholly forgotten, this is about vanity and greed.

With that being said, I don't know how a BJ fits into their plans. BJ would be a net drain on both of those coveted characteristics. BJ has little money, rents all their facilities, and has a tiny fanbase. They are doing everything they can to keep up with WSU right now. If they are admitted into the "holy" conference, their would be a huge sucking sound for quite a while as they strained to keep up with Big East spending and shuttle all their sports 1,200 miles one-way.

I wonder if the Vatican will make short term loans... kind of like a Payday Loan.

You almost understand, but your hatred of CU is clouding the situation. You see Creighton has already out-invested everyone in the MVC. We pay our coaches, invest in facilities (non-MBB; See Sokol, Ryan, Soccer, Practice Arena), have a large support staff in the ADs office. The thing that pays for all that is the ticket revenue from our rented facility. WE are tapped out. We have more money going out than coming in. There are only three ways to get more coming in. 1) TV Revenue, 2) NCAA Tourney money, 3) upping ticket revenue. Since we cannot up ticket costs for games with other North Texas and (no offense) Evansville, we need to look at options.

If other MVC schools were investing at the same rates as Creighton, then it would be possible to stay and get more revenue from TV or NCAA Tourney. However, we all know that only a few schools have the capability to make that investment, and therefore, we need to evaluate all options.

There is also the academic side, with research dollars, professional school collaborations, et al.

Of course any BJ or Shocker fan would want to improve the conference they are in, I was speaking from the Arrogant Big East defectors point of view as well as taking a stab at their hypocritical behavior as it relates to their "holy mission".

And yes, TV money would help the BJ's cause eventually, but in the short term it would be a strain. Also, we aren't talking about BCS football money here.

"You see Creighton has already out-invested everyone in the MVC."

This statement would be incorrect. Club BJ hasn't invested even close to the amount of money that Wichita State has. BJ's major capital improvements over the last decade have been bought and paid for by the citizens of Bugaha.

And I know that BJ is tapped out, they were tapped out 10 years ago as well. Had Bugaha not built the Missing Link, you would still be languishing in your older rented arena and drawing around 5,000 fans.

I don't hate BJ, I am appreciative that they have remained competitive in the Valley and helped WSU's strength of schedule. Just be careful when you start talking about money. WSU is the cash king in the Valley and it isn't even close.
