Not doubting John Stanley's comment, but it wouldn't be the first time in this madness that officials (ADs, presidents, trustees) have denied something they were preparing to announce.

This P-J Star is the very first I've heard about Evansville, so either it is a very well-placed leak, or it is false.

I deny any truth to the rumor that I am moving from MVCFans to the bbs board. I am firmly committed to this board for the foreseeable future. I am always open to new ideas and will continue to look towards the future and what is in my best interests and those of my family. As of today, I am firmly committed to this board and any rumors are, as of this moment, completely false.

That is exactly what CaseyGarrisonforPresident said last year. Sure, there was a sealed envelope, secret meetings, private jets and helicopters, but he led with the old smoke and fire routine. Until the ink dries, we have nothing.

Valparaiso's AD denies the same report from the Peoria Journal-Star that they might join Moral Victory Conference to replace Evansville.

I will not be surprised if nothing happens, I would not be surprised if every conference in the US is changed slightly. We really have no idea how this plays out. Unlike last year however, the mid-major conferences are truly going to be affected by this.

First of all the MVC doesn't want to replace a very small private school with little resources with another very small private school with little resources that plays in a high school gym. NOBODY and I mean NOBODY wants Valpo.

If the Valley runs out and starts adding teams like it's going out of style we are all screwed. Sit tight at 8, take your time, do your homework and then see if somebody is worth inviting.

Well, see that's just silly. And while yes, this whole thing is silly, no one has officially "left" the Valley yet. Although I am sure Reynolds is privy to a list of schools the Valley has on their "wish list". But any potential members would be discussed among the remaining membership. So of course Valpo doesn't have any idea what's going on with the Valley yet. And I doubt that they are at the top of such a list.

There is an order to which these things happen, and we're not quite at that point yet. But I am sure there are a considerable series of "if-then"s going on behind the scenes.

Agree fully, if the MVC needs a new member, my guess if the first call made is to Murray State.

Do the Shockers start looking elsewhere? And if so, where?

I wouldn't be surprised if Evansville would be under a conditional leave scenario: leave to the Horizon if Creighton leaves. Maybe they fear that the non-footy minority would cause them eventual problems.
