Report: Shockers to Mountain West Conference

Postby C0|db|00ded » December 15th, 2012, 2:31 pm

Several conference alignment experts have noted that WSU and the MWC are in talks. Our AD's lips are literally bolted, super-glued, and velcroed shut. NOBODY IS TALKING!

Folks, it's happening.......

We'd all love this, but Internet chatter and wishing does not constitute a report.

Is there any link or anything on paper" about this? Use of the word "report" in the title feels misleading.

But anyways, as I've noted before: If the Mountain West is going to expand beyond 10 teams, the football-only Hawaii teams throws the count off by one for the other sports. Wichita can absolutely be a candidate to be the Hawaii balancer. Of course, BYU, Gonzaga, et al are also.

Methinks he's just having some fun at the non-news (so far) today.

The Alabama State coach was quoted after their tough loss to Evansville today, "We're really looking forward to having the Aces and fellow Valley member Wichita State in the Southwestern Athletic Conference next year. Those guys can really ball!"

Didn't BYU just leave the MWC? I don't know how warm their re-entry would be received. The West Coast is a pretty decent basketball conference. Gonzaga has a nice thing going there, though I suppose they could make a leap towards the MWC. With the whole Hawaii football only thing, that does throw in an interesting and reasonable idea regarding admittance for a non-football public school like WSU.
USA Today Coaches Top 25 Poll Conference Breakdown:

MVC: 1
WCC: 1
Atlantic Ten: 1
MWC: 1
Big East: 1

The Big East is Big Time.

Wichita State University president Dr. John Bardo will be on the road this week discussing Wichita State's future in the MoValley.

LIPS ARE VERY VERY VERY TIGHT! Even the Koch Arena janitors won't talk...
