Big 4 in Des Moines

Looking forward to the games today. Need to get at least one victory and I think there's a shot to win both - although I wouldn't be stunned to see a sweep either for or against the Valley.

Iowa leads 33-26 with about 4 minutes to play in the 1st half.

Iowa is going to win this one. Hopefully Drake can pull a minor upset.

80-73. Iowa shot lights out from 3 early and UNI was not able to get on track from deep. Mitchell with 23 for UNI, Tuttle with 18, James 15, but only 3-16 on the game from 3 is not part of UNI's game plan.

I think that pretty much bursted UNI's bubble.

You don't think a win on UNLV's court might have any impact?

Not much anymore. You've now lost to Stanford, Memphis and Iowa. 3 teams that will now be ahead of you in the bubble ladder. After watching UNI today, I can't imagine them beating UNLV but I guess anything is possible.

True, if teams shoot 50% from deep on us, we're not gonna beat many of them. I guess we'll see.

We still have UNLV and St. Mary's in the non-conference, those two would be as good as any win anyone else has in the conference at this point. We would definitely need to be in the top 2, maybe top 3 in the Valley to have a look at that point-no way 11-7/10-8 gets us there even with those two wins.

As a mid, UNI has too many losses now to get an at-large, even if they pull out a miracle in Vegas. They'd also have to pull off another miracle by going 14-4 or better in conference play to avoid a double-digit loss total. Also, UNI doesn't have too great of an RPI right now. That'd be a lot to ask of 2 miracles in 1 season.
