"I" warned MSU! "I" told them to cough up more money! "I" said to have a check waiting after beating Wichita! Pathetic.

Actually, it went full circle because you couldn't let my post go. In fact, my first sentence included "I don't want to dwell on this too much". You couldn't let it go and threw out the adult card, the last decade card and others. Unfortunately for you, the facts and history are on my side and you have had to resort to tactics. I will not allow you, or any Bears fan to revise history, with that, it would be over had you just had the self control to not reply.

I see, so now it's my fault for calling you out on your B.S. (and winning the argument, by the way). You said "not to dwell on this" and then proceeded to dwell on it. That's like when people say "no offense" as just a signal that offense is forthcoming.

I'm happy BH found a home in Carbondale and I'm happy to see SIU on the upswing. I'm not happy that MSU has traded places with SIU in the Valley cellar but what's done is done. There's no guarantee that if MSU had kept BH that things wouldn't have gotten even worse than the 07-08 year and he would have been fired under even worse circumstances. There's no telling how much he improved as a coach with four years under Bill Self. That's why it matters when you don't let things go and pretend like you know everything about a situation that you don't. Just because you figured out how to access the Springfield News-Leader on your P.C. (remember, Barry got fired before the iPad was a thing) doesn't mean you have a grip on the situation. You refuse to listen to people who might have better sources and closer experiences than you.

Oh, my! Or as the esteemed Matthew Perrault used to say on the radio, "Oh my goodness gracious!". I guess you won. I used facts, I used actual history, I didn't resort to wordsmithing with phrases like " That was the last decade.". I didn't resort to the "adult" card, but you won. Good work!!!

Congrats!!! You finally slipped one past the goalie!!! So, are you planning on sending the little guy or girl to SIU or are you saving up for Standford?

Yes, you claimed several things were facts that I put into dispute with the following facts that do not appear to be disputed by you:

1. Barry's firing was not unanimous and was in fact very controversial among the MSU fanbase.

2. The immediate success Zo had in turning the Bears program around quieted those who disagreed with firing BH and provided public gratification for those who wanted him gone, making it easy for those unconnected with the program (such as yourself) to inaccurately characterize his termination in 2008.

3. There is no provable correlation between MSU's firing of BH and any success he may have at SIU because he spent four years under Bill Self after leaving MSU. Therefore, to suggest that BH would have been able to reverse the slide at MSU based on results at another school four years later fails to take into account many important variables.

And I had moved on to congratulating DawgieStyle, a Saluki fan by the way, on the impending birth of his first child. Earlier you stated that we should drop it, I did. I guess you weren't sincere. Then again, as lawyers say, if you can't argue the facts, argue the law, if you can't argue the facts and you can't argue the law, attack. You are at step 3.

Back to Dawgie, do you know if it's a boy or girl? The inner chick in me wants to know. I can't stress how great that is, like you know, I have five kids and am done, but every time I see a baby, a part of me wants another.

Then reality sets in.

Not to dwell on this ( ), but I can't let you get away with saying that you're arguing facts and are now merely discussing procreation with another poster because I've just gone off the ledge attacking. I've articulated three facts that directly rebut any supposed "fact" you've trotted out, and your answer is to bust out some ancient lawyer joke and accuse me of attacking you. I'm sorry, but that's just weak. Feel free to end this discussion but don't sit there and pretend like I've just gotten all hot and bothered with these brand-new things called "facts" flying into my face.
