I've articulated three facts that directly rebut any supposed "fact" you've trotted out, and your answer is to bust out some ancient lawyer joke and accuse me of attacking you. I'm sorry, but that's just weak. Feel free to end this discussion but don't sit there and pretend like I've just gotten all hot and bothered with these brand-new things called "facts" flying into my face.

Calm down. The firing of Barry wasn't unanamius, but that really isn't germaine, as I was discussing the posters that wanted him gone and spewing vitriol. In fact, several large donors wanted him to stay. Many of those had the same concerns as people outside of the program. That said, while I believe a majority of Bears fans wanted him gone, t doesn't take a majority to create a riot or lynchmob. Your first fact is irrelevant.

Your second fact is a WTF? First, Martin wasn't immediately successful. It was year three. Second, what is being mischarachterized? Nothing.

Fact three is not a fact but an opinion. You can speculate that Barry got better working at Kansas, but it is not a fact. If Barry tanks later this year or next, the I told you so's from Bears fans will fly! Let's not mix opinions with facts.

I'm sorry the lawyer barb got under your skin.
There are three rules that I live by, never get less than 12 hours sleep, never gamble with a guy who has the same first name as a city and never get involved with a chick with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Stick to that and everything else is gravy!

Yes, it's called being an adult. Guess what, MVC board, it's December 2012. Doug McDermott decommitted from Northern Iowa and Missouri State fired Barry Hinson. Both of those things happened LAST DECADE. We have an entirely new generation of players at both schools who have nothing to do with any past decisions. Let it go.

By the way, if you think the MSU message board posters have or had any pull with the administration or A.D., you are more delusional than I thought.

Not. Gonna. Happen.
If its not me, its somebody else. And do you call the behavior of those Bears fans "adult?". Nope. As far as the influence internet posters have, they have more than you think. Coaches and AD's will tell you that that they don't read this garbage, and most don't. At the same time, there are people who have as part of their job responsibility, to keep up on message boards. And it wasn't isolated to the message board, either. The News Leader was full of it with reader comments as well. You may want to revise history, deny this happened and throw out the "adult" card, but what happened at Missouri State was a mob scene. It was embarrassing.

Like I said, own it.

Plus I imagine that the AD's in-box was filled with messages of outrage on a pretty regular basis. Say daily.

That kind of daily heat is hard to ignore in its entirety.

Yes, you claimed several things were facts that I put into dispute with the following facts that do not appear to be disputed by you:

1. Barry's firing was not unanimous and was in fact very controversial among the MSU fanbase.

2. The immediate success Zo had in turning the Bears program around quieted those who disagreed with firing BH and provided public gratification for those who wanted him gone, making it easy for those unconnected with the program (such as yourself) to inaccurately characterize his termination in 2008.

3. There is no provable correlation between MSU's firing of BH and any success he may have at SIU because he spent four years under Bill Self after leaving MSU. Therefore, to suggest that BH would have been able to reverse the slide at MSU based on results at another school four years later fails to take into account many important variables.

And I had moved on to congratulating DawgieStyle, a Saluki fan by the way, on the impending birth of his first child. Earlier you stated that we should drop it, I did. I guess you weren't sincere. Then again, as lawyers say, if you can't argue the facts, argue the law, if you can't argue the facts and you can't argue the law, attack. You are at step 3.

Back to Dawgie, do you know if it's a boy or girl? The inner chick in me wants to know. I can't stress how great that is, like you know, I have five kids and am done, but every time I see a baby, a part of me wants another.

Then reality sets in.

LOL, it's gonna be a boy, and no he won't be playing ball for stanDford. Of course he'd have to be way more athletically inclined than his mom or dad for that to even be an option, lol.

Back to Barry Hinson...perfect hire. What a difference a year and a real coach make.

Sorry, I forgot. The Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.

I was ready to let this go, but apparently, Bears fans aren't. From Bear-Nation:
I still can't believe we are this bad.

It was easy to get mad at Barry since he never played the game and he didn't know what he was doing. Lusk has enough experience that he should know what he is doing. Lusk just must not be a leader. Some guys are winners and some guys aren't. It appears we're stuck with another guy who isn't. Hopefully, we don't have to suffer through 9 years this time. But the Hinson years did teach us that the administration is going to stick with their coach as long as they can. Shut up and cheer is their moto.

This team does have some talent. Marcus and Gavin have the ability to be big time players in the Valley. And I like Drew as well. As stated above, I hope we don't lose these guys. I'm really looking forward to Ruder bombing some 3's next year. I just hope we don't waste all of these guys like we wasted guys during the Hinson years.

It's going to be hard to shell out $500 seat accessment and another $350 for tickets next year, times 2.

Maybe Bears fans need to be adults and let it go? By the way, Barry never lost to Alabama A&M. Never.
