Watched parts of all 3 games. Syc's are tougher than people think and will surprise some folks. Good mix of talent and some gamers. Looking forward to seeing them play some real competition in Omaha. :buddies: 8-) :P

ISUB rpi is now 49! 4 MVC teams w/top 50 RPIs, 5 w/RPI's from 149-185 and then that other team  .

UNI is at 118, damn if we had just played better in any one of those losses, we'd be up there too.

Breakdown is more 2 (WSU/CU top 25) 2 (ISU/ISU top 50) 1 (UNI 118) 4 (BU, DU, UE, SIU 160-185) and MSU

I look at it like this:

4 teams that can provide a good to very good win for an NCAA tourney resume. Losses against these teams won't hurt your resume either.

6 teams that will only present the opportunity for a bad loss to very bad loss and a win won't help you at all.

By comparison, I present
(a) MWC - 3 teams under 25, 5 under 50, 6 under 100 and only 3 teams with RPIs over 100.
(b) A10 - 1 team under 25, 5 teams under 50, 11 teams under 100 (remaining 5 teams are over 100).

MWC and A10 perennially present their bubble teams with more opportunities for resume building wins. I'd also point out that the MVC has a team with far and away the worst RPI. In fact, MSU's RPI is basically 80 points worse than the worst team in the A10 (Fordham)!!!! :Bam:

Hey Casey, can we get that boycott this year?

I just took a glance at INS' nonconference schedule. Losses to a very good New Mexico, solid team in SDSU, mediocre UCLA and a bad Morehead St. Good wins against a strong Miami and solid Ole Miss.

If it weren't for that bad loss at Morehead St., it would be conceivable that INS could play itself onto the bubble. Unfortunately, they would have to be almost perfect in conference to make up for that bad loss I think. Maybe they get lucky and land a big bracketbuster opponent, although there really aren't that many of those this year.

Interesting how a strong tourney can prop up the numbers. INS is basically the polar opposite of UNI who blew most of their opportunities, yet avoided a bad loss.

if if if INS has a good MVC season, i.e., top 4 finish, then that loss at Morehead State will probably come back to haunt us.

According to the guy on TV in the Haute, this is ISU's first win against the ACC since 1979. Not bad for a team I demoted to Thursday a month ago
