6'9" 250 lb. reserve center Chadrack Lufile saw limited action tonight because of some sort of back issue. No excuses though, injuries are part of the game and other Valley programs have had similar troubles, I'm sure.

WSU is a good basketball team. We are not a very good team on the road. We are a horrendous team against very athletic teams like WSU. Looks like a two horse race. WSU and Creighton appear to be the class of the Valley this year. Not sure either team will get challenged too much from the rest of the conference. Good win to WSU.

UNI doesn't have a talent to keep up with WSU. They are bigger, stronger, and more athletic at every position. Kuddos to Marshall for completely reloading with some incredible athletes.

WSU will win the league and it really won't be close IMO. And yes, go ahead and store that quote away for future reference in the event I have to eat crow.

Thanks for the compliments, Kyle. I think your second paragraph, while extremely complimentary, is a bit knee-jerky. There is a lot of season left. This was Game 1. A lot of our players haven't seen the Valley road yet. That's going to be tough. I do like this start though.

It's just one game. Jacobsen is too good of a coach to let this type of game get to the team too hard.

Just to be fair, UNI was also playing the entire bench once the game was out of reach which was basically the entire second half.

"You had to be there – Charles Koch Arena is the toughest place to play in the Valley. The place was packed, and it was absolutely rocking at times in the second half. It's a scary thought as to what it would be like if the game had been halfway close. The fans scream when something good happens, they scream when something, anything doesn't go their way.
