We need more hate in this conference. Most of the coaches are to nice and classy. We need more characters like Bobby Knight and Steve Spurrier that are willing to demean their rivals. Too bad Jacobson and McDermott are friends...that situation has sooo much potential to create a great rivalry. It would also be nice if Jankovich and Les took a few jabs back and forth.

How do you UNI fans feel about McDermott? Is there any resentment? Throw me a bone!

There is some resentment... Respect for what he did for us, but of all the division 1 programs in this country he had to pick one in the MVC? I think that is how several UNI fans feel about Mac right now.

Apparently, early on in his tenure at WSU, he just blew a gasket because somebody at WSU spelled his name with only one G. I think that's how the story went.

Creighton University had its share of headcases in recent memory. Of course the infamous P'unk and DA. DA was a constant whiner but he hid it a lot better. I remember the Miami NIT game very well in 06. That was definitely a proud moment for him and the beers that were chucked at the Qwest Center. Apparently when things aren't going the right way, tempers flail with even the "greatest" of coaches, as was the case with DA last year.

Marshall isn't your typical guy. Those who only see snip-its and glimpses of him in one or two games every year will probably be rubbed the wrong way.

I enjoyed listening to Marshall on the interview show that was on ShockerTV. Gave me a different perspective.

Marshall isn't your typical guy. Those who only see snip-its and glimpses of him in one or two games every year will probably be rubbed the wrong way.

I haven't seen Marshall nearly as much as Shocker fans. That said, I have probably seen him a lot more than many non-shocker fans. I've seen some really, really classy things from him and I've seen the worst (Last year in Omaha). I've seen petty harmless stuff (the Perrault debacle and his comments to Bob Lutz). Even in the game last year where he ran across the court and grabbed an official, I also saw him help a Creighton player up off the ground and pat him on the back. I'd say he's a mixed bag.

I will say that it's much easier to be classy when you are winning.
