ROTFLMAO! This is the hostile treatment you speak of? Goodness, I hope that didn't traumatize you too much!

You and valleyclimber are missing the point anyway. My original post was in reply to someone who essentially said that if Creighton leaves, we could really catch hell from the other schools on the road. I just pointed out that we ALREADY catch hell on the road, especially in Cedar Falls and Wichita! The point was that it can't really get any worse!

C'mon. You and I both know that there is no single UNI player/coach that has received anywhere near the treatment in Omaha that Doug and Mac have received in Cedar Falls. Give me a stinking break.

Actually, I don't know that. I know that you believe that to be the case, but you are a delusional-elitist Creighton fan. And even if it were to be true, I trust that even you are intelligent enough to recognize the circumstances as to why that may have been the case.

Though, (hypothetically) I'm sure if Dana Altman left Creighton to coach in-state rival Nebraska, and then 5 years later returned to the MVC to coach Wichita State (while bringing along a 1st team all-american that had previously been committed to Creighton with him) I'm sure he and that player would be greeted with flowers and a hearty round of applause upon every visit to Omaha for a game. Surely that would be the case with the ever-generous and understanding CU fans.

Wrong. Your point was that nobody has it tougher than Creighton in this league (because they're big time!!), which just quite simply is not factual. Here were your exact words:

DoubleJayAlum wrote:Do you really think road trips could get any more hostile for Creighton? We already bring out the biggest crowds and most opposing students at most every venue.

How can next year's roadies get any worse? Does any other team have to put up with what we put up with on every roadie already? I doubt it!

And you coupled those statements with a whole slew of ridiculously slanted and/or untrue examples of the unique atrocities that the BJ's have to deal with.

Which of the descriptions was untrue?

I'm still waiting for that list of all of the harassment/atrocities that UNI players have received on the road in the MVC (and especially in Omaha). I'm sure its a doozy!

The adult was an older male (40's) who was yelling at my wife as we were leaving. Obviously, we were decked out in shocker gear but weren't talking to anybody and weren't looking for any trouble. My daughter was temporarily freightened. Just a bad experience.

That sucks and should never happen. All fan bases have there share of A-holes no doubt, some more than others. Drunk students you can somewhat expect that from but still doesn't make it right.

Maybe if there was ANY humility or class exhibited by anyone in your fan base this wouldn't 'happen' to you.

Also, if you can't understand why Dougie and Mac have it rough in Cedar Falls, its you living in fantasy land.

Last year I had things thrown at my family, was yelled at by drunken students, and my family was cursed at while leaving. Nothing like having an adult yell at a family with a 5 yr old girl. When I describe to my daughter making bad choices, I remind her of our trip to Omaha. Not a reflection of the entire fan base, but still very low class students.

You say "adult" yelling at your family and than "low class" students. Was it an adult in the general seating or a student in the student section?????

The throwing was a male in his early 20's in the general seating (upper bowl area). I guess he may not have been a student but was with several other fans his age and I took them for students.

If this all happened, I am sorry and wish I had seen it as I would have told the culprits to knock it off.

I've been to several roadies, exempt tourneys and conference tourneys. Some people are hostile to visitors, some are polite and some tease you to see what happens. No doubt that young males seem to be the worst and may be looking for a fight.

Every fan base has people that like to get into face to face brawls. I think it is stupid and actually like to banter with people from other fanbases, presuming they are not being a jerk.
