It is a tough trip to make when you know you are only playing 1 Thursday game.

Bears fans will be in the same boat this year. Not sure I'll go this year for that very reason.

So we should root for a Bears-Salukis game on Thursday? That way we'll know one of your teams will be supported since someone will have to play on Friday?

Welcome to my world, circa 2007.

Haven't bought tickets yet (I didn't think they were on sale until January), but I probably will.

Bought my tickets several months ago. First time ever I made reservations at the Omni, which has been Drake's team hotel for the past 5+ years.....turns out it's not their hotel this year.

Arch Madness 2013

Postby JAY DOG » January 7th, 2013, 10:09 am

Yes, it is true that Jays fans have CRUSHED the MVC Conference Tourney ticket record of 2500 + change they set last year.

The reason for the record increase is the rumor that CUldBlCUded is going to host a kickoff party at our sold-out Hyatt at the Arch for a meet and greet with God Cle Early!

Here are the pre-sale numbers from our schools for Arch Madness 2013 (tickets sold by Jan. 1)

Bradley – 150

Creighton – 4,000

Drake – 150

Evansville – 200

Illinois State – 400

Indiana State – 150

Missouri State – 150

UNI – 410

Southern Illinois – 300

Wichita State – 1,019

Total – 6,929

Here are some quick historical numbers:

Last year: 5,039 (sales by Jan. 1)

*Last year, Creighton set the institutional ticket sales mark with 2,575, passing Wichita State’s 2007 record of 2,574 (this mark included total pre-tournament sales, and not limited to pre-Jan. 1)

We’ve had just 3 other tournaments surpass 6,000 by January 1:

Creighton's total is very impressive. I find it interesting that Creighton beat the Valley record by one ticket last year, but it really doesn't matter as they have blown that record out of the water this year.

You lose Creighton to the C7 and I don't know how the Valley can afford to have this in St. Louis when they have sold 2/3 of the pre January 1tickets and are either number #1 or #2 every year there.
