To all the whiny Shockers out there. Perhaps losing to Evansville yesterday compounded with trailing by 9 at home and only winning by 6 against SIU earlier in the week. Let alone, from an outsider's prospective, our last 3 outings have not been that impressive. Anyone who expected us to remain ranked after yesterday was delusional.
Thoughts and prayers to WSU finding a new conference.

I don't people understand the point I was trying to make. Take Georgetown for example. They lost by nearly 30 points on their home court to a team with an RPI similar go Evansville. And yet, they dropped less than the Shockers did for losing a close game with the team tied for second in the conference away from home.

Teams from the MVC play with a different set of standards.

Evansville fans are taking it as a slam when the premise of the thread was actually valid. Evansville is not perceived very well, even with an RPI at 78. The stats say they're decent. Their perception, thanks to the last decade and a half, is not. If you can't understand that point without getting all butthurt about it, then maybe you should avoid conference message boards altogether.

I understand what you said. You built your case and then said this is why Creighton and WSU fans want to leave The Valley. I said fine pack your bags and leave if you want. If it betters your situation, then no one will blame you but don't expect anyone to beg you to stay either.

I do believe that the reputation of the Valley (the modern Valley, from the mid-90's to today, not the Valley from before then that was arguably the best conference in America at times) is a MAJOR reason why teams want to leave the Valley.

Note, the last part of my original statement. "good enough to get wins, and bad enough to get no respect for them." Essentially, that is supposed to mean that the teams in the Valley are not respected. A Big East team with the same record and RPI as Evansville would not be a bad loss, but Evansville was counted as one.

People in this thread that a team with an RPI of 77 is a tough road win, and that is true. I said that. "good enough to wins." But it is not treated like that. The MVC has a reputation, and that reputation what makes teams like Wichita State and Creighton want to leave. It makes it more difficult for an MVC team to get into the tournament than a team from the A-10 or MWC or a power conference with the same schedule and RPI.

There is a reason that teams like with RPIs like Ole Miss (74), Georgetown (56), Wisconsin (63), and Notre Dame are all ranked above Wichita State (22). It has something to do with the conference they play in and the way those conferences are viewed.

Again, move to the Big East and be a small fish in a bug pond.
There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.

Any team that is ranked 23rd and loses is going to fall out of the poll.

This isn't part of the grand 'Anti-Wichita State Conspiracy'...

Let's try and understand this again. It wasn't the fact that WSU dropped out of the poll. That was expected. The severe drop and lack of votes after the loss was the issue here.

Did anybody say it was an "anti-WSU conspiracy"? Just stop it.

Why??? WSU is fast becoming the most unpopular team in The Valley. If you people want to leave, quit talking about it & giterdone.
