The Shockers have beaten 4 teams in the top 100 RPI.

Four whole teams? Goodness, that's a pretty tough schedule.

Yeah, since Creighton's schedule is SO much better (actually, Wichita State's is projected to be better by the end of the season). And the Shockers have still played (and beaten) the highest quality opponent, on the road no less.

Creighton has played 10 teams with RPIs under 100 (that's 2.5 times as many).

The only reason WSU's SOS would be higher than CU's at the end of the season is that WSU gets to play Creighton twice, while we don't get to play against ourselves. Think about it. Creighton's SOS after the noncon was significantly higher than WSU's. In the conference season, the two teams play all of the same teams, except that they can't play themselves.

CU's schedule is better than WSU's, but let's not act like they've beaten world beaters. Outside of the neutral court win over Wisconsin, the teams they've played are ok in name, but are turning out to be average at best. Cal is not very good. St. Joe's has proven to not be that good. The only other team that has turned out to be really good on the schedule is a team they lost to by double-digits at home.
USA Today Coaches Top 25 Poll Conference Breakdown:

MVC: 1
WCC: 1
Atlantic Ten: 1
MWC: 1
Big East: 1

The Big East is Big Time.

First off, I said Wichita State had BEATEN 4 teams with 4RPIs in the top 100 (actually 5 counting UNI), not that they had played 4 teams. And here is Creighton's schedule:

265 North Texas
157 UAB
345 Presbyterian
324 Longwood
49 Wisconsin
58 Arizona St.

28 Boise St.
67 St. Joseph's
62 Nebraska

75 Akron
69 California

134 Tulsa
80 Evansville
168 Illinois St.
43 Indiana St.
179 Drake
242 Missouri State
95 Northern Iowa

So congrats, you've played tougher conference teams than Wichita State so far. You haven't beaten an opponent as good as VCU yet, and your schedule is not too much greater than Wichita State's. There is a reason you are only 5 spots ahead of Wichita State in the RPI, and the schedules are not that much different.

Anyone who doesnt think CU will pimp slap WSU in Ohama later this year is crazy. WSU got up for the game of the year for them and still almost lost!

Wichita State shot for seasonal lows (or close to anyway) in FG%, 3PT%, and FT% and still won down two starters. We can play this game however you want.

I think the Shockers have a fighter's chance in Omaha because they probably will have a different line-up on the court, will shoot better (Hall won't shoot 16% from the FT line again), and shoot rebound and defend at the same level.

This discussion is all well and good, I guess. We have now entered the second portion of the what is hopefully a four part season for the Shocks & Jays.

Part 1: Non-Conference

Part 2: Conference Play

Part 3: Conference Tourney

Part 4: The Dance.

Go Valley!

Go Shocks!!
