I believe the camera bays used to be suspended from the rafters. The renovation in 2003 moved them to the concourse level.

Was tv even around back then? How important was television to college basketball than what it is now?

It was a joke bro, you are better than that.

The 10 best home courts in college basketball:

1. Allen Fieldhouse, Kansas
2. Cameron Indoor Stadium, Duke
3. Assembly Hall, Indiana
4. McCarthey Athletic Center, Gonzaga
5. The Pit, New Mexico
6. Breslin Center, Michigan State
7. Koch Arena, Wichita State
8. Petersen Events Center, Pittsburgh
9. Carrier Dome, Syracuse
10. Rupp Arena, Kentucky

Five other good ones: Kohl Center, Wisconsin; Joyce Center, Notre Dame; Viejas Arena, San Diego State; McKale Center, Arizona; Comcast Center, Maryland.

Also of Valley note:

Oregon coach Dana Altman said more than 15,000 fans attended home games when he was at Creighton. But with only about 4,000 undergrads, the environment wasn't always as imposing as some might expect. Former ESPN analyst Doug Gottlieb once referred to the Qwest Center as "The Library." "The students there are key," Altman said. "When they show up, it's on a different level."

Really puts into perspective how good Creighton has been since about 1999. All those wins, conference and tourney titles despite having a pretty small student section.

WSU, on the other hand, seems to have underachieved in the same time period, considering it has one of the 10 best home court advantages.

I'm having a nice conversation here about how crummy their tv angles are here, please stay out of this.

We'll give you Scott Thompson for 10 years, and see where you win-loss is. Afterwards, you can get 6 years of Dana and 6 years of McDermott. Of course, half that time will be spent rebuilding from the last coach.

In terms of winning games at the collegiate level, these the things that are important:

I'm coming to the game in Omaha on March 2nd. You'll know who I am: I'll be the one with the laptop and files writing a few memos. My house can just be too loud on the weekends, what with the heater kicking on and off and all.

Just a head's up, you can't bring a laptop into the Century Link Center.

Gosh, I don't think that's the reason, its probably an insurance thing. Now, you may be able to get a media credential and bring it in, but I'm not sure how that works.

Damn. I'm not in the media. I had to become "elite" the old fashioned way.
