Should hopefully be a close game after Bradley was manhandled by Evansville last year. Looking forward to this one.

No one cares, but the Aces won.

First half of this one was about as interesting as a Latin Mass.

Second half was more like watching The Weather Channel with constant interruptions for the officials.

I guess Ed Hightower is a pathetic official.

I am not sure where the Ed Hightower reference came from. He was not a ref at the UE/Bradley game last night. The refs were Zelton Steed, Daniel Chrisman, and Gene Grimshaw.

Any by the way, those refs stunk!

Bradley and the Aces are pretty close from a talent standpoint with the three UE seniors providing the edge.

Aces fans---Ryan Sawvell looked like Moses Malone vs the Braves last year and now he hardly plays. What happened there? Balentine and Mockevicius are nice look freshman who could be solid MVC players.

Bradley has no depth and post players (save for Tyshon Pickett) who are soft as marshmallows and can't get out of their own way. BU's two guards have been exceptional this year. Evansville really struggles to guard Walt Lemon.

I expect the rematch in Peoria to be close.

Marty recruited a true center (Mockevicius) who has been starting almost every game at center, taking Sawvell's spot. Jaylon Moore was able to use the offseason to get better, so he has become the primary backup for Mockevicius.

Meanwhile, Marty has preferred to start Lewis Jones, the guy with the most experience (and least size) at forward, the position where most of us fans think Sawvell fits most naturally.

Sawvell has been a third option at both of those positions this year, and really hasn't played well off the bench. Sawvell's conference stats:
Games: 8. Minutes: 55. Points: 8. Rebounds: 9.

In general, UE fans are upset with Marty about this whole situation for the very reason you point out. It isn't very often that an all-Freshman squad player gets pushed into the third string the following season, and it seems like bad management.

A footnote: Last year's primary backup for Sawvell, Rokas Cesnulvicius, has virtually been reduced to a footnote, playing in just four games this season.
