Interesting argument. Odd, though, considering I remember you having a very different argument in the thread about POY in response to Early having better numbers in conference play than McDermott:

Somehow these two comments just don't line up together for me?

If I didn't know better, I'd say you were being blatantly hypocritical in your attempts to argue that McDermott should be POY because of his whole body of work, while Echenique should be ahead of Hall because only conference play should matter.

It's even more interesting when the same person thinks we should include only MVC games for one award and the whole season for another.

For all league awards I look at MVC only games. It is the safest, and most fair way to do it. The competition is the same for everyone.

RIght now I would go with McDermott, Carmichael, Ryan, Desmar Jackson, and C Early.

What is the Criteria? I know the Bears Beat writer mentioned last year he only uses conference stats is that the standard protocol?

You will probably have to wait a while for an answer.

DJA is probably very, very busy preparing to get drubbed in court, so that's why he hasn't been on here lately.

That's why. Not because CU has lost two in a row or anything. He's just busy.

I agree. When he is motivated, he is a stud duck.

There is no criteria. It's whatever the voter wants to base his vote on.

McDermott will be POY.
Hall will be first team I believe.

Ryan, Odum, C Early, Greg E/G Gibbs, and Carmichael are the candidates for first team depending on how the standings finish out. Ryan and Carmichael if they don't play Thursday in St Louis. Odum if the Sycs finish 3rd or better. Early if the Shocks win. GE or GG if CU wins. If UNI finishes third, one of their guys could get it or they could finish with three guys on second team due to split votes.

I don't believe there is any set criteria.

Regardless of if you want it to be just conference play or whole season stats, as long as there is a consistent decision, it's all good. At least on an individual voter basis.

The problem comes in when there is no consistency, or the only consistency, as in DJA's case, is whatever looks best for Creighton players.
