The more I think about it, I think it might be Creighton vs. St. Mary's. ESPN needs one marquee game to headline this crock of an event and St. Mary's is more well-known than Belmont to the average basketball watcher. Not good for our RPI to play them compared to Belmont but I don't think ESPN cares much about that.

Actually, at gunpoint, I think Ohio is a better team than Detroit or the XDSUs now, but there comes a point when the computer profiles matter more.

Are they having another lulzy "selection show" for this piece of crap this year? Or will they just leak out the opponents like they used to circa 2005?

Aren't you guys having a selection show party like I am? It's going to be awesome.

I'll update my projections after one more cycle of games on the weekend. Besides, I have no non-Katz related reason to change my mind on anything significant right now. Except that if ESPN cowtows to St Marys at the expense of all the conferences with TV deals not as good as the WCC's, there will be rioting in Omaha, Wichita, and Nashville.

I don't know about that, SDSU is on a roll right now. I guess we'll know more about Ohio after they play at Akron on Saturday.

That said Katz seems convinced about St Marys-Creighton....

Nick (South Dakota)

Do you think that the BracketBuster selection committee will pair South Dakota State and St. Marys together? Its makes sense since SDSU will already be in Californa that week playing Cal State Bakersfield. A Wolters and Delledova matchup would be great!

Andy Katz (2:29 PM)

Nope. I'll be surprised if Creighton is not at Saint Mary's. Not sure yet on South Dakota State. We will unveil the selections on the BracketBuster special at 6:30 p.m. EST Monday on ESPNU

If Creighton is getting screwed. We are all getting screwed.

We should have 6 or 7 TV games, but of course we won't.
