WSU stays as a 5 seed, but this time gets sent to San Jose instead of Kansas City.

Why?

Because of changes around them. Wichita gets procedured into a western sub-regional because the other three 5-seeds (a B1G team, ACC team, and BEast team) can't be in that region because their conference mates are the 1, 2 and 3 seeds in the region, and the "top 3 in conference" rule means Wichita is forced to travel west.

The point? Get to the 4 line.

Lunardi also has 3 Valley teams in the dance in his latest bracket. Besides WSU as a #5 seed, he has Creighton as a #6 and the Sycamores in as a #12.

I think I may take the week off and pound away every week starting 2/10.

Glimmer of hope for ISU: Remember, you guys have not one, but two Top 25 wins. And not just that, you have two road/neutral top 25 wins. That's significant.

Well, that's the end of the Kansas City subregional sideplot for Wichita.

What if UMKC sneaks in to the NIT and hosts?

UNC yes, Kentucky no.

But that was a 2-line loss right there. WSU needs a rather immediate quality win via BB to erase this on-er, wait....

By the way, this probably takes Indiana St down a seed line too (and careering out of the tourney depending on your cutline). A large portion of their profile is predicated upon @WSU being a signature win.

Bracketbusters probably just turned into a must win for WSU to stay off the bubble.

It's like a headlight.

The problem is you need two headlights on a car.

As for Wichita, they're still 2 bad losses away from being in legitimate trouble. There's enough goodwill there - they're basically a rich-man's Indiana St, 3-0 against RPI top 50, a lot of overall good in the profile. You don't go from the 4 line to out in 2 weeks.
