You don't watch much basketball do you? To think Colt Ryan has any chance of playing in the NBA is laughable, at best. He might get a year or 2 overseas, if he's lucky.

Colt is 6'5", quick, and has one of the best shots I have seen. He was draining shots yesterday under INTENSE pressure. The last I heard, the NBA likes guards who can fill it up.

The problem with SoW is that he is undersized, underathletic, and underfast. To play forward in the NBA you have to be very athletic, or VERY large.

Who said anything about Doug in the NBA? Now he obviously will play in the NBA but it's amazing how you felt the immense need to bring him into this conversation. Pretty childish if you ask me.

Back to Colt....Yeah he is a great shooter. The problem is, he needs 2, sometimes 3 off-ball screens to even get him open. Evansville's entire offense is entirely predicated on running screens for Colt to get him shots. This would NOT happen in the NBA. Also, Colt does nothing else well besides shoot. It takes way more than that to play in the NBA.

Maybe you remember Nate Funk? He was a pretty similar player to Colt, except he could also create his own shot off the dribble, and he shot the 3 better. He hasn't and he won't come close to sniffing the NBA. Colt won't either.[/quote]

Nate Funk is one of my all time favorites in the conference. His spin move in the paint was lethal.

He always gave the Shockers fits.

What is he doing these days?

If drafted is a requirement, I think you are correcto.

We might have had some camp invitees.

Maybe a 10 day contract, but I doubt it.

I think he has played over in Europe for quite a few years. He also was one of my favorite Bluejays along with KK and Ben Walker.

I am an ardent Aces fan, so I may be a bit biased toward one of our own....but I think that Colt Ryan is the best player in the MVC. He is intensely defended each game, and yet he finds a way to score...inside, the 3, a lay-up after a steal (he does that, too). He is good at finding the open man for an assist. ...and he does all this on a team that often depends upon him for the bulk of their scoring. He works hard every night, without the reward often of a "W" and I always feel like we have a chance to beat anyone if Colt gets hot. He doesn't prance around the arena or act like he deserves every call...or argue with the refs....he is a class act.

He is a super star in my opinion...and he has been a great player to watch for 4 years....also carries a GPA of 3.92, so he's a thinking super star. Proud of him....GO, COLT, and the ACES!

I might agree. I think Colt's an extremely good player.

Where is GodEarlyGod? Is he injured? He just does not look as quick or explosive as he did earlier in the conf season.

Big 3-pointer for Early with less than 10 sec to go.

Early is a JUCO who may be worn down by D1 basketball. Even athletic and talented players have to learn how to play with the grind.
There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.
