Close, if it's a flagrant and the player is injured the coach of the injured player picks, if it's a non flagrant then the opposing coach gets to pick.

Rule 3
Article 3
f. (Men) When an injured player is unable to attempt his free throw try(s),
the coach from the opposing team shall select one of the four remaining
players on the playing court to attempt the free throw try(s). When the
foul is flagrant and the injured player is unable to attempt the free throw
try(s), the injured player’s coach shall select any player or team member
to attempt the free throw try(s).

Now, on another note, I did not watch the full sequence, did anyone from WSU's bench attend to the player? And did Cotton get subbed in for? I can't get ESPN 3 to work on my work PC to check it out, but this was interesting.

d. An immediate substitute shall be required when the coach or any other
bench personnel is beckoned and/or comes onto the playing court to
attend a player(s) who has been injured unless a timeout is requested by
and granted to his or her team in that dead ball period.

Its stuff like this that you just simply don't hear from other schools in this league when they are winning.

I doubt most other teams when they are winning face as much negativity here, either.

Evansville is better than WSU. WSU is all hype. Theyve beaten one good team all year.

WSU does recruit more high prestige recruits than any other valley school. They also are one of the only, if not the only, valley schools to currently recruit illegally .

wichita is the most over-rated valley team , they always under-achieve???? NOOO , we always over -hype em, theyve never been that good and wont be any different this year

And on, and on, and on. Honestly, I could likely find 100 negative posts about WSU to every one negative post about Creighton, without the slightest doubt. You have two teams that are winning at the same clip, but only one of those two is facing the extreme level of negativity, and you're surprised WSU fans overcompensate in turn?

The more negative things about WSU that get thrown up on here, the more trolls come over to over-compensate. The more trolls there are, the more negative things get towards WSU. The snake is eating itself.

In fact, what I've found interesting about this is that the more "trollish" WSU fans tend to be over the top on hyping WSU, but very rarely actually attack other teams in the conference. How often do you see WSU fans calling Creighton overrated or cheaters?

I would rather see ridiculous troll hype than ridiculous troll attacks, personally. Of course, I'd rather see neither, but it is what it is. I just think it's funny how much more it stands out to people when the trolls are hyping their team rather than tearing down someone else's.

Some of those quotes were said by me earlier in the year. Obviously ive been proven wrong on WSU being over-hyped. The recruiting claim i made , well, idk for sure , but from a credible source thats what ive been told, only on a couple players over the last 6 or 7 years though. As for the other things i said about being over-hyped and all, I really partially believed all that, and partially was just tryin to heat things up before Creighton went to Wichita. Looks pretty dumb now though eh?

Baseless allegations of recruiting violations from a "credible source" (lol, sure) are something you should keep to yourself.

Talk as much smack as you want. Accusations of illegal behavior without facts escalates things to an entirely new level of s*** slinging.

Has any other MVC school had multiple NCAA sanctions put on their program? Was is 6 violations or 7? I can't remember.

History is important and helps shape a schools reputation even if it's old.

Then I guess UNI fans shouldn't take offense to the "D2" comments Kyle, as Northern Iowa was a D2 teacher's college 30 years ago.

Man, if there's one topic you really like to chime in on, it's piling on WSU. No doubt about that.

By the way, those dumb JUCO's are leading the conference.

Siding with Bowden's accusations is a, ummmmm, questionable way to pick a battle.

And here I thought things that happened before UNI was Division 1 were ancient history.

Right, and I wonder why that is??? Mmmmmm.......

I can't wait for Aargh's annual "This is why we are better than all of you, and this is why you have all held us back" thread.

Good press is quickly forgotten, but bad press sticks around a loooooooong time. Much like a business, one bad review will wipe out 10 good reviews.

Nobody in the sports world cares about UNI's D2 days. It wasn't bad news or good news, it was no news. I never once heard it brought up during our 5 tournament appearances the last 10 years. Not one story was written about it during our S16 run. Not one journalist or blogger mentioned the phrase D2 in the hundreds of articles I read about UNI's tournament appearances and S16 appearance. You see, nobody cares about history unless it has juicy details, be it negative or positive.

Just look at UNLV. Everyone will always remember them as the school who got caught cheating. When the brackets were announced a few years ago and UNI was matchup up with UNLV, I spoke to a few colleagues and casual sports fans about their thoughts on the matchup. They all made similar comments about the matchup, "Didn't they get caught cheating?" or "Are they the school who got in trouble?" These were not UNI fans or UNLV fans, they were just casual sports fans who don't really pay attention to college basketball until the tournament. They didn't know or care what UNI did 20-30 years ago because it wasn't news worthy. They also didn't make note of UNLV's recent accomplishments because it wasn't a juicy story like cheating is.

This isn't a slight at WSU, it's just a one reason they carry a less than squeaky clean reputation. Personally, I wish UNI toed the line a little more. I envy WSU's willingness to work in the grey area and do whatever it takes to bring high quality basketball players into the program. Whether they continue to cross the line or not, I don't know. I do know WSU treats college basketball like a big business while UNI tries to reinforce the "student" part of student-athlete. We all know to compete with the big boys, this is almost impossible (save rare exceptions like Duke/Stanford/ND). Much like college football, college basketball is a billion dollar business, and gaining every advantage possible is just the natural thing to do for a school that values winning over everything else.

Several of the quotes were by you. A quick search of your post history made examples of Creighton trolling as being about tearing down others rather than hyping their own team easy.

And you're right, you don't know for sure. You also don't have credible sources. You're throwing out baseless allegations to demean WSU's accomplishments. You can call it whatever you want, but the actual word for it is "libel."

Justify it however you want. The quantity of negativity regarding WSU on this forum is directly proportional to the quantity of WSU trolling on this forum.

You want a discussion about WHY it's happening, I'll happily participate and discuss it with you maturely and rationally. If you just want to use it as a way to attack WSU, fine. Enjoy the trolls that you deserve.
