No, Howard was not active on WSU's roster during any arrests.
So. just to make sure I get this straight ---
WSU fans proudly claim an NBA player as their own, even though he graduated from Texas, but Jamar Howard stops being a Shocker upon the expiration of his college eligibility. Hmmm....
"Player" implies current. Maurice Evans is a
former WSU basketball player. Jamar Howard was a
former WSU basketball player when he got arrested, though possibly still a current student. I don't know if he was still attending classes or not. A technicality? Maybe. But at least he waited until after his eligibility ran out to exercise poor judgement. That seems to be the standard I see being applied by nearly all fanbases when they discuss the off-court behavior of their own players.
He was arrested within a couple of weeks, if not days, of playing his last game and while still a student (assuming he hadn't be expelled prior to that time). If we are going to say that doesn't make him a Shocker, it would seems as though we are really, really stretching the definition to create an exception.
Frankly, I'm not trying to pile on WSU at all here, but just think that GoShockers89's attempts to claim that WSU is so clean while the remainder of the conference harbors criminals is intellectually dishonest. If he didn't make his little list, stretching the truth and reality, I wouldn't have said a thing.
