Deanthonybowden wrote:Most your points are rediculous, like those elite 8s u speak of. Those were back in the day when the NCAA was the NIT of today, The NIT was for the best back then. So congratulations, u made the elite 8 of the second best tournament. But you do make one good point. Creighton has not gotten to the sweet 16 in a long time, we have not performed well in the NCAA. Our best team ever was rated 13 in the country going into the tournament and choked, lost in the first round. Yall made the sweet 16 in one of the two years youve made it in the tourney. Still, the overall success betwen the two schools is not even close as of the last 20 years. We still have more wins in the tourney then you guys even though we havent made the sweet 16. Yall are really pretty comical. Bradley and UNI also made the sweet 16, but you dont hear their fans saying they are the Best program in the Valley. They realize that just cause they made the sweet 16 ONE year doesnt make them the best. The fact is its a pretty balanced league but the most successful programs have been SIU and Creighton.

BTW I respect your fans , Wichita has great fans seriously. Ive been to Wichita a few times for games and in all honesty most the fans ive come across have been great, its just a game and i enjoy the rivalry. And being in Koch makes me miss the Civic where Creighton used to play. When creighton filled that building it seriously was at least as loud as Koch. I think the move to our new arena was the right move for the program overall, but as a fan going to a game i definitely enjoyed the civic auditorium's environment more. Your fans are great, sometimes u just need someone to put u in your place when you start making these rediculous comments about how your the elite program of the Valley. You havent done what Creighton or SIU have done, but if Marshall stays there, and if noone ever gets caught for recruiting violations (just rumors from a credible source) then i have a feeling you guys will be at or near the top for the next years to come. And i expect Creighton to be there with you and this to be a very good rivalry.

Dee, you better pray that Dougie comes back next year. If not, the Blue Birdies will be facing Thursday and your bragging rights will be reduced....just a touch.

I absolutely don't want WSU to face ISU again. We're likely going to the NCAA tournament, you're likely going to the CBI. I'd rather not have any of our players hurt before the NCAA tournament by your team. I'm not sure your team can play without "accidentally" hurting our players. Quite frankly, I'd rather play a good Indiana State team, or face Colt Ryan, or enjoy the rivalry of Creighton bringing their best game against us, than be worried the entire game that your team is going to cause a brawl in the middle of the court with whatever accident comes next. I'd rather face the teams that have beat us already this year, and one that should certainly be favored to beat us next week, than the team we've beaten twice this season already, because I'm not worried about dirty play from those three teams. Or of things coming from the stands.

As for whether I'm joking or not, you made a simple statement. "Jackie Carmichael rebounds like that half the time." This means that Carmichael has his leg at around 80 degrees in front of him nearly 50% of the time when he rebounds the ball. Should be pretty easy for you to find another picture where he's doing so, in that case, I would think? He has around 900 career rebounds ... that means you should have 450 rebounds in that manner to choose from. Like I asked for, show me a pic of it happening one other time.[/quote]

So, because of one incident where it is still unclear (maybe not to you) whether there was malicious intent by one of the best guys in the league, we are suddenly a dirty team? And all of these allegations are coming from one person saying that people were throwing coins. I was at the game and definitely saw things coming from the student section, but that is the absolute opposite end from the tunnel where the wsu players were exiting. I have heard multiple accounts from people that were sitting in that section above the tunnel, none of which saw any "coin zinging". So, maybe one person threw a penny in the general direction of Carl Hall, or maybe nothing of the sort happened. Either way, it is ludicrous to say that we are a dirty team or trashy fan base because of this one incident. Obviously both sides are biased on the topic, but one thing is for sure: the refs gave the free throws to the wrong player, which could have drastically changed that game. So either way, the refs screwed up.

I actually don't think Carmichael's a dirty player, but you have to admit that John Wilkins kicking Stutz in the nutsack in St. Louis last year adds a little spice to the "this is a reoccurring problem" argument.

and because the refs missed the call in the first place, you got rewarded 2 free throws, so in my mind its a even slate.

To me, it seems that the refs knew that they screwed things up a great deal (missing the call originally, waiting too long to review it, etc.) so they decided "hey, we might as well even it up and give the other team 2 free throws too". So, all that says to me is that the refs were clueless on the whole situation in the first place so they gave us both free throws. The way I see it, if we didn't get the free throws, Cotton shoots 2, probably misses one. you guys score and maybe we go down and hit a 3. Thus, forcing overtime. What I'm saying is if the refs knew what they were doing, a lot of things about that last 40 seconds could have been different.

You know, I really, REALLY thought it was intentional, but when faced with the convincing argument of someone so clearly unbiased, you've really changed my mind, RedbirdLisa. Clearly we're all wrong and it's just normal to shoot your foot out at 80 degrees into an opposing player when you rebound. Happens all the time.

It looked intentional to just about every single person not wearing red. Carmichael is a dirty player.

Don't be so nasty. I was there. It happened very fast. It just did not look dirty to me. To call Carmichael a dirty player is out of line. 885 rebounds and no flagrants. This play was unfortunate but I do not think it was intentional.

The level of nastiness and vitriol on this thread is really beyond the pale.

Lisa, if the roles were reversed, and it still happened directly in front of you, Carl Hall skyed for a rebound and
forcefully extended his leg and connected his foot solidly against Tyler Brown's chest knocking him backwards, how would you react? Remember, God is watching. :D
