You might want to focus on Thursday before thinking about Saturday
You might want to pay attention to the MVC games on 2/27 when ISU-R beats MSU, CU beats BU, and InSU beats Drake to clinch staying out of Thursday for the Redbirds. Also, to quote Gregg Marshall, I saw strange things in ISU's loss to Wichita State on Sunday at Redbird Arena and it was a conspiracy that the Shockers won. I also imaginarily barged in the post-game press conference to reenact Marshall's antics from last year.

In addition, pay attention on Saturday of Saint Louis when the Redbirds defeat the Shockers and on Sunday when the Redbirds defeat the Bluejays to earn a trip to the NCAA tournament for the first time in 15 years. Oh and about the "kick". Here's what happened. Tekele Cotton ran into Jackie Carmichael's foot and flopped to the ground. So much for a kick. More like a flop for ramming into Carmichael's foot and flopping to the ground. Nice acting job, Tekele Cotton has been admitted to the drama class of the highest caliber and Marshall has been admitted to the class of whiners. Congratulations.

The delusional bird-brain cry babies just keep coming. I love the clueless sh!t heads that like to portray Cotton, let alone any Shocker, as a "flopper." Your showing the typical lack of BBIQ here, as Cotton doesn't have to rely on the flopper defense, because he is probably one of the top defenders in the Valley and doesn't need to faint when it gets physical. If bird brain fan, or any other basketball fan, didn't watch and except the play for what it was...an in-the-moment total brain fart by JC, then maybe you should root for a slower action sport like chess.

Drop it now...your to the point of embarrassing your fan base. I genuinely wish you good luck this weekend. GO VALLEY!!!

I really don't care how many Colt gets.....as long as he's not making his living at the FT line........

Thats when the Aces are at their best. When Colt attacks and draws a lot of fouls it is usually within their offence. Should be a fun game. Regardless GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE THIS WEEKEND! Let's go 10-0 in Bracktetbusters.

I'm thinking we'll knock off Wright St. this weekend, but not nearly as confident about Wichita St. While it would be nice to go on a run now, I just don't see us pulling the upset in Wichita......senior night, chance to clinch, normally crazy atmosphere probably gonna be kicked up several notches......oh yeah and a pretty damn good team too.

I like Evansville this year, and I think Colt is a beast. But I'd be really surprised if Evansville can pull it off in Wichita. WSU is a very good home team (two home losses in last two seasons), and there's a lot on the line, plus the revenge factor.

I don't think it's an insult to Evansville or really up for debate that WSU is the better overall team, so for the Aces to win they're going to need WSU to play sloppy (again), or Colt's going to have to play like he did against Illinois State again. Which is possible. He had a pretty damn good game against us last time out.

I just don't want to see 20+ turnovers from us again, win or lose. I don't mind if we lose because Colt scores 40 and shoots 100%.

Or 24 personal fouls.

That was a ghastly game.

The thing that has impressed me most about the Aces is their defense. They really get after it on that end. At least in the games I've seen. I think they have a reasonable shot at the finals in St Louis.

Evansville is a team that I would rather not play in St. Louis because of their team toughness. Troy Taylor is the most impressing rebounder I have seen in a long time. To average 8 boards a game at six foot tall is simply amazing and shows great instincts.

I've thought all along that our guys play as hard as any team in the conf. when it comes to defense. Now with Mock to block or alter shots and the addition of Wing as a tough defender, we have more toughness to add to Troy Taylor's rebounding. I never feel that we don't have a chance in a close game because we CAN get possession of the ball if we turn up our defense.

My concern is offense. Colt is Colt....what can you say? He's has put this team on his shoulders and carried it through many games. Now, we are seeing the emergence of more offense from others. Cox is solid. We have more opportunities under the basket to score now. If Balentine can regain his shooting touch the Aces will make a good showing in St. Louis. I think some people dismiss E'ville, but I think that is a mistake....these guys are tough .... and we're getting tougher. We've underperformed in some games, but hopefully those bad memories just have made us more determined.

Post on the Redbird board, but sometimes it takes something like this to bring a person out of the woodwork. First of all, if you know Jackie he doesn't have one mean bone in his body and would never intentionally kick someone. But ultimately besides Jackie's character take Coach Muller's quote into consideration. As Coach Muller said, "You don't have to know Jackie to have common sense." Look at this thread on the Redbird board with pictures of Jackie as well as other players kicking their legs out on rebounds. http://www.redbirdfan.net/forum/viewtop ... f=6&t=4585 .

So truth is this is a regular occurrence. Difference in this case is Marshall and his team had prepared for this move ahead of time having viewed it on tape. Cotton knew it was coming, drew closer and took the hit the same way that he would a charge and down to the ground he went. You can call it a smart play if you want because it probably is for Marshall to prepare his players accordingly and for Cotton to play it that way defensively. I think it is a bit much to be called an intentional foul when it is such a regular play and there was no excessiveness or intentional moves involved.

You are delusional if you think that is really how it happened.

That analysis was the most inane I've seen yet by a Redbird fan. It's like they just magically came out of nowhere with the delusions after their little win streak was destroyed.

WCC: 1
Atlantic Ten: 1
MWC: 1
Big East: 1

The Big East is Big Time.
