Denver is a young team and they believe they are still in the hunt for an at-large
Let them have their fun until they wind up in the NIT with UNI.

Jake owned up to the T after the game and took all of the blame for that. Said it shouldn't happen in year 7 and it won't happen again. Good to hear that he realizes his "mistake" but any coach in the world would do the same thing when a ref turns a blind eye to a foul that obvious

Holy s*** that was embarrassing....

Denver's coach is ALL OVER his HALF of the court and nothing. Jake takes 2 steps out of the box and it T'ed up. F***ing stupid.

Almost as embarrassing as the way the Denver team acted after the game...

Classless

Easy there your gonna kill over and we haven't even got to STL yet. Someone in Cedar Falls buy this man a drink.

Most of the people in Cedar Falls agree with him. Those refs were the worst I have seen in a long time. Denver was also the dirtiest team I have seen us play in a long long time as well. That team was the epitome of "clutch and grab" that we get accused of.

We did not play well enough to win, but the refs didn't do us any favors either.

In Bracket Busters, the visiting conference provides the referees.

Yep....The WAC should be embarrassed they let these guys work games.

They didn't cost UNI the game, that stretch in the first half did that....but they sure as f*** cost UNI ANY chance at coming back.

I don't think this is the case. The fact is the teams we play all double team Doug, this means to be successful on offense, when the double comes, he needs to find the open man, and this partly goes on our other players, as they need to find open spots in the D (moving without the ball). But partially cause Doug is not looking for teammates. I like Doug, he is a hard worker and an outstanding scorer, but he is not a good passer, and doesn't make his team mates better. IMO he is over rated because although he is a great scorer, his defense is poor, his rebounding is fairly poor, and he doesn't make his teammates better on offense. Is this due to him trying too hard to look good for the scouts, instead of putting the team first? Possibly. I don't think its Coach Mac, i think its his son, IF this is the case. In his defense, I think he is as much of a competitor as anyone on our team, he just has a one track mind. I think we should go to Gregory every single possession of every first half we play. Most the time, if he doesn't score he gets fouled. And where is the drive and dish? i mean I understand chatman can't finish in the lane but why not drive it in their and break down the Defense and drop it off to Greg or Doug? or even kick out for 3, there is absolutely zero penetration on this team. You don't have to be able to finish at the rim in order to drive, all you have to do is get by your man and it breaks down the defense. Chatman needs to do more of this, Gibbs understands this, but he is just too slow sometimes. Nevin is a few games away from breaking out into a solid contributor, He is a big key i believe.

Shooting is not the reason we are worse now. I am 100% positive. The reason we shot so much better early in the year is cause we were able to get wide open looks from our movement. The second half of the season our 3 balls have been highly contested, many times forced shots, not to mention Josh Jones was maybe our best shooter.

Valley starts out 6-0, finishes 7-3. Unfortunately 2 "tv" losses. Disappointing day after such a great start, but otherwise a good day for the Valley.

CU isn't passing the eye-test right now, but they're still in with their non-con wins. Bradley is a must win for them though.
Thoughts and prayers to WSU finding a new conference.

7-3 in Bracketbusters, not bad although after starting 6-0, it could have been alot better.

Which makes total sense. It's just very frustrating and always looks "interesting" when you have officials who look lost or simply refuse to make the correct call in key moments down the stretch against that team of a rival conference. I understand that the WAC is trying to secure an at-large for Denver ;) but they need to leave that amateur crap on the other side of the Missouri River.

Was Creighton overhyped?

Or is this a typical February swoon?
USA Today Coaches Top 25 Poll Conference Breakdown:

MVC: 1
WCC: 1
Atlantic Ten: 1
MWC: 1
Big East: 1

The Big East is Big Time.
