I routinely forget how many UNI fans are also big fans of cancer.

I didn't realize he suffered from cancer. But the only thing I've read is he liked the feel and he thought he played a good game when he wore them, so its nothing more than a superstition for him. Not that wearing the shoes actually does anything for cancer except maybe raise awareness because, apparently, people in Omaha are too aloof to know anything like cancer exists without someone wearing something that screams "LOOK AT ME!!!! I care enough to wear shoes!" Now, if Dougie wanted to wear them, I would understand since I know his mom has battled cancer and been on the successful side of that battle. Otherwise it's like driving your SUV everywhere but parking a couple of spots further away in order to "walk and save some gas." A meaningless gesture.

But yeah, keep mocking someone for having a tattoo honoring his deceased mother, we know how sensitive and caring you are.

Now, there is one game a year where the entire team wears pink. The entire purpose of the game is to both raise cancer awareness and to raise money for cancer research and treatment.

It's a little like MVC officiating. If a team fouls on every defensive series, the officials don't tend to call anything.
