Remaining MVC games for Top 4 teams

Postby MVCfans » February 24th, 2013, 11:02 am

Here are the MVC remaining games for this Wednesday and Saturday. With a win on Wednesday vs Evansville, the Shockers will clinch the #1 seed at Arch Madness and at least a share of the regular season title. WSU would win the title outright with a win over UE and a Creighton loss on Wednesday.

If Creighton can defeat Bradley on Wednesday, the Bluejays would win at least a share of the MVC regular season with a win over Wichita State on Saturday.

One thing to keep an eye on was the injury to Evansville's Ned Cox yesterday. I haven't seen a report on his condition for this week, but the Aces have games against Wichita State and Indiana State so it could have an impact on those games.

Also note, if Creighton, Indiana State, and UNI all finish with the same record, the seeds for STL would be:

1- WSU
2- Indiana State (3-1 vs others)
3- Creighton (2-2 vs others)
4- UNI (1-3 vs others)

This is wide open! A week ago I thought Illinois State looked dangerous, then they loose. Then I think UNI is on fire and boom they loose yesterday. I am not sure what to think, except i better be in St. Louis!

Sycamore fans have no idea what to expect from ISU? We could just as easily win our final 2, or lose them both. It will all depend on which ISU team decides to show up.

I thought Indiana State was 9-7?

Anyways, another question mark is Anthony James for UNI who left with a leg/knee injury and didn't return. Early word is a deep bruise but you never know.

And I am not sue about Illinois State and UNI being loose, I know they have lost, but didn't really look loose in doing so....

I haven't heard anything either, but I'd like to observe that Evansville has basically no depth at guard. After Cox was hurt at Wright State, when Troy Taylor took a seat on the bench, Colt Ryan was Evansville's 6'5" point guard. Let's just say that isn't his natural position.

If that has to happen again on Wednesday, I could see VanFleet or Armstead with bunches of steals.

ISUblue is not 10-6. They are 9-7 and all alone in 4th.

Thanks, corrected. Was outside having a snow ball fight with the kids so I must have given ISUblue a little extra bump on accident.

I just don't see Creighton winning either of these games based on what they've shown lately.

I got a bad feeling about the Bradley game , but a good feeling about the WSU game. Then again, if we lose to Bradley the WSU game wont be for the Conference Championship, and maybe we wont come out with as much fire.
*Just so WSU fans don't throw a pussyfight- I'm not tryin to say Bradley is better than WSU. Even though WSU is obviously a better team, I just dont like the matchup and the mental aspect for our game against Bradley. Then again, idk why i feel good about beating WSU, for some reason my gut is usually right though. I won $20 dollars from each 3 of my friends back when UNI beat Kansas, just knew it was gonna happen.
