Just wondering.

We've got Arch Madness scoreboard over you though don't we? :bounce:

Didn't realize that had already started this year?

In case you forgot:
Arch Madness: Illinois State 65, Wichita State 64

ST. LOUIS -- Tyler Brown made two free throws with 6.4 seconds left and finished with 25 points as Illinois State upset Wichita State (No. 14 ESPN/USA Today, No. 15 AP) 65-64 in the semifinals of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament on Saturday.

Jackie Carmichael added 12 points and 11 rebounds for the fourth-seeded Redbirds (20-12), who rallied from 13 points down early in the second half. Illinois State, which lost at home to the Shockers by 13 points on Feb. 22, snapped a 24-game losing streak against ranked teams, dating to 1987. The Redbirds head into the tournament championship game on Sunday seeking their first NCAA tournament berth since 1998.

Congrats on your runner up finish in the conference tournament last year. That is quite an accomplishment. You all should be extremely proud. Also, best of luck to the Redbirds as they once again try to reach their first NCAA tournament game since 1998.

I believe WSU still competed in the NCCA tournament and you finished second in the Valley tourney. Glad to see you are still hanging onto a win from a year ago that got you into the NIT. Well done!

A bit sad that your Super Bowl win is a semifinal win in the Valley Tournament that punched your ticket to the NIT. Remind me again what Illinois State's record is vs. WSU over the last 3-4 years. Ouchie.

Anybody know what conference team has the longest stretch of years without an NCAA appearance? Anyone?

And here they were supposed to be an NCAA Tournament team this year, picked to finish 2nd in the conference..

Glass houses and all that.
Based on what we saw at the game and there were also tweets from a couple ISU basketball student managers like, "Wichita has absolutely zero class. They should be embarrassed." and "Smh Wichita st and their fans. #mvchooops #classless." so....But whatever, I mean it's been over a week now and at some point the arguing back and forth between the two fan bases and retaliation has to stop. I think as long as no more Wichita fans call Illinois State fans mentally retarded, bird brain cry babies, s*** heads, morons, trolls, etc. we'll be fine.

It's almost as if these insults are used to try to pump themselves up and make the opposition look bad when in reality they are used in place of any real arguments that were never articulated. I'm pretty sure no one in the ISU fanbase came after the WSU fanbase in that way, so it's really unnecessary to do so and raises the perception of classlessness. At this time, Geoffrey Allen has zero association with the Illinois State basketball program as he is no longer a part of the team and has no reflection on the ISU basketball program. In my opinion, at this point correlating Allen's actions to ISU is like talking about a random, ordinary WSU student's negative actions. Since that's all Allen is right now. Just your random ISU student.

Jackie's kick to the chest wasn't classless. Neither were the coins or crap being thrown onto the court and at WSU players by the ISU student section. Totally classy.

You missed the irony with the post that has gotten you in a tizzy. An ISU fan started a thread slamming WSU for being a dirty classless program because his team choked away a sure win and then a week later you have an ISU player getting in trouble with the law.

Irony.

To try to steer this thread back into a bball topic.

I thought ILL St. was left for dead at the beginning of the season. I thought Mullen was going to be one and done as a coach. They have completely turned their season around and are dangerous entering St. Louis. As much as i hate the redbirds, congrats on pulling your stuff together at the right time and yes you guys deserve some love on this board.

God it's amazing how you can sit there and seriously argue that WSU fans are being mean to you guys by calling you names, while COMPLETELY ignoring the fact that you began the entire thing by attacking WSU as classless. That IS name-calling! It's the SAME thing ... but it was done FIRST. And you did it again in the SAME post where you're whining about name-calling!

You STARTED the name-calling, and then you insult WSU fans for attempting to make the opposition look bad in place of real arguments?

Good God, this is why you were called names. Because the intellectual dishonesty of everything you folks are posting is staggering.

They currently have a three game losing streak going into St. Louis.

Not sure that's what I'd call turning the season around and dangerous entering St. Louis. They were a couple weeks ago. They now need to turn the season around AGAIN to have done so at the right time. If anything, their program is collapsing at the wrong time.
