I picked WSU. They have the most talent and the most depth. I think the depth (if Marshall uses it correctly) will be too much over 3 days for any other teams. History has nothing to do with this year. What they did last year is completely different than this year. This team doesn't care that any previous team has never won in St. Louis. Just like a coin flip. It doesn't matter if you flip heads 50 times in a row the next time still has a 50/50 chance.

I think those tired legs get a weeks rest and the energy of 5000 vocal fans.

Unlikely, since it says you can't choose your own team :)

I voted ISUr. But I really have no clue because ALL our teams seem to have major flaws.

I think overall WSU has the best team but I think their sometimes mediocre offense may let them down at some point over the course of arch madness. I'm just not sure they have the shooters for a sustained run in our tournament or the big dance.

Honestly though almost anyone could win it outside of MSU Drake and SIU IMO.

My heart pick is the Shockers.

My brain pick is the Cats.

The Cats have a perfect style for this kind of tournament.
- Low possessions
- Minimize personal fouls - 14.5 season average
- Minimize turnovers - 1.2 season average
- Tough defense
- Walk the ball, milk the clock, run the sets over and over and over
- Win free throw battle - 76.9% season average
- 3 ball weapon - 36.7% season average
- Scoring range of 50s to low 60s
- Balanced scoring
- Bench strength
- Last and best of all - this team will not beat itself.

And one more factor, which might come into play. If it comes down to a three team tournament, then
Shocker crowd noise will come from Shocker fans.
Blue Bird crowd noise will come from Blue Bird fans.
Cats crowd noise will come from everybody else.

The Shockers and Blue Birds are not exactly loved in far away places.

Yeah...wait, what?

Until our hot streak that was the trademark of this team. Missing free throws in clutch situations, silly turnovers, cold shooting, porous defense from a lack of execution.

Let's hope the Denver wasn't an example of old habits dying hard. Or maybe some of you should ;)
[Insert snappy comeback]

Well, beyond that, WSU and Creighton are likely at-large picks for the NCAA tournament. Neither's seeding is likely to change too much depending on winning the tournament. A third team winning the guaranteed bid would benefit every other team in the Valley, through recognition and NCAA payouts.

Everyone not from WSU and Creighton should be cheering against them.

Unless Creighton loses today. Then people mite root for us so we can get in. Aside from that, Creighton is expected to have a ton of fans there. Hopefully this helps our guys, but the real key is Nevin, Will, and Avery playing well and getting some depth so guys dont have to play 30+ minutes a game 3 days in a row if we make it that far. Otherwise even if we make the championship, we are gonna be toasted n its gonna be tough to win if we are playing a team like WSU who will be fairly fresh. All signs point to WSU winning this, but,
in St. Louis Creighton still owns you

Has nothing to do with them playing well, it has everything to do with Mac allowing them to see the floor...
