I am pretty sure WSU beat UE at UE also.

This year? Nope.

Hence the "payback" game tomorrow night.

But it's not true that no one agrees. There were posters on the Redbird board that said it looks like on the tape that Cotton took it like a charge. And there are previous photos of Carmichael kicking his legs out on rebounds. So with Marshall being the great coach he is, it would not surprise me if he and the players knew this going in from photos and tape. So it's not that ludicrous, really. It's really a rational thought based on logical thinking and IMO, it's certainly a possibility. But what does it matter after over a week? There is no way to know really what happened. In my opinion, using the word "classlessness" isn't name-calling and it used based on actual arguments whereas mentally retarded, bird brain cry babies, s*** heads, morons, trolls are not and said unsubstantiated. Also, I don't put a whole lot of merit in you saying that I'm making the university look bad.

Now if someone from my own school says that, then fine. That's a different story, but that hasn't happened. As for shoxrox's comments, I tend to disagree with the statement that Jackie's kick was classless because he is a stand up individual that so happens to kick his legs out regularly on rebounds and in one isolated incident, something went wrong. In addition, there were no coins thrown. I was in the student section and there were items thrown by the student section on the floor (which I didn't engage in by the way) going nowhere near the Wichita State team. This occurred on the opposite side of the floor from WSU and most of the objects hit the ground in an area where there was nobody around. What seems to be lost in all this is a water bottle actually hit ISU's Zeke Upshaw in the head. So an object an ISU fan threw hit one of its own players.

If it doesn't matter, then why are you still here posting 2 paragraph essays about it? All of your posts this year have been about that game. It's an issue to you because Illinois State was on a big bad 6 game winning streak and you had a chance to take down the No.1 team in your own den for only the 2nd time in 10 tries and your team pissed it down their legs. I understand the pain you felt but it's time to move on.

This was yet another post of yours that continues to demonstrate the lack of intellect in the Redbird fanbase. You are representing them quite badly. Your first paragraph is beyond laughable. You really have no basis for reality with your continued stance of Marshall conducting practices planning for a Carmichael karate move to the chest. That continued, repetitive statement has eliminated any sort of coherence you have ever tried to demonstrate and further proves that you may have other "issues" out there that you may need to seek help medically for.

Actually that was me that said that. And that was all I had to say in that thread. All the facts about this whole thing have been skewed every which way to benefit one side or the other. It just needs to stop.

My apologies for the misquote.

Also, for what it's worth I do think it was very classless to create a thread about another fanbase, their team and their coaches and how classless they are. I do not approve of such hypocrisy.

And thank you.

I will preface this by saying what does it matter anymore. Over a week has gone by. It's just whatever at this point, at some point a lot of time has just passed by and that's it. God you are such a hypocrite. You go and bring up a locked thread, then link to it, and then try to clam it's in the past, as if you aren't trying to keep it going. And then you rant for a further two paragraphs about it.

Great. More people on the ISU forum think like you. Good to know. Not one person on here not cheering for your team agrees with the crap you are spewing. I have not see one person outside of the ISU fanbase ANYWHERE agree with this garbage. I'm sure everyone is just blind, though.

Stop. Just stop. You've taken this stupidity too far.

I am picking up chatter in various places that Illinois State is getting more serious in discussions with at least one if not two conferences about a FBS move. Obviously I have no idea if it is true but I've heard this in more than one place. If true, then the WSU fans will be pleased to see us gone.

What FBS conference wouldn't want a team that's averaged about 6 wins a year for the last five years and has a stadium capacity of 7,700, and managed to sell that out twice last year?

You would have THE smallest football stadium in all of the FBS. By more than 8000 seats from the second smallest. Nearly 15,000 seats smaller than the third smallest. You would also have the second smallest average attendance of any FBS program. Even giving you Bloomington and Peoria, I believe you're still the 116th biggest TV market in the country. What exactly do you think you would bring to an FBS conference?

I would take no joy in IlSt leaving as a basketball program.

Just thought I'd make a correction on the stadium capacity. http://www.goredbirds.com/hancockrenova ... -faqs.html
What will the capacity of Hancock Stadium be for the 2013 season?
Newly renovated Hancock Stadium's capacity will be approximately 15,000.

Without going back and checking your point about 6 wins I have no reason to doubt you. However, what is missing is not the average but the trend. Illinois State has continued to improve each year since Coach Brock arrived. Last year Illinois State went to the FCS playoffs and had some success. Now I know you will knock FCS football but so will many Illinois State fans but it is the base we are building on. This year's recruiting class for football is arguably the best Illinois State has ever had. Momentum is building at the FCS level and if it continues as is, Illinois State will be able to build a case for the next level at some point.

As for the 6,000 seat arena, as been shown, that has changed. Also, if you look at the pictures, the south end zone is not being done at this time but the design allows this to be done allowing a horseshoe stadium with even further capacity.

I'm not saying ISU is going FBS this year, next year or ever. What I am saying is I have heard more chatter about this than I have in previous years. Perhaps it is idle chatter from those who don't know what they are talking about. I am also saying Illinois State football is not the same as it was 5 years ago - much progress has been made in the last 5 years. Illinois State may not go FBS but I would not dismiss it as out of hand. Then you will have to find someone else to hate.

Where exactly is this "chatter" you are picking up coming from? Not denying the accuracy, just want to know the source. You haven't been chatting with Caseygarrisonforprez have you?

I know that I saw someone post on redbirdfan.net something to the effect of "I have heard from a credible source close to the football program that ISU is currently in serious talks with the MAC". Now I wasn't able to find the thread that I saw this on (believe me or don't). But that is about the extent of the rumors that I have heard besides the chatter among my fellow students. There is a lot of excitement surrounding our football program with the football stadium renovation and having made it to the 2nd round of the FCS playoffs last year after a CRAZY win @ App St. We just lost the best quarterback in school history, and FCS history, but we have a stud QB transfer from Iowa St. He was the one that beat Ok St. while throwing for over 300 yards and I think 3 TDs last year while their starter was injured and from what I hear he is gonna make us a force to be reckoned with.
